Healthcare for all would eliminate Medicare, Medicaid, and the VA. Did you add those savings into your equation? The money for healthcare exists in the system. It just needs to be properly allocated. We are paying double for worse care.
The users would not have to pay healthcare premiums. Those covered would not get the terrible insurance they get at work. Warren's system is so much better in so many ways.

52 trillion is what America is going to pay for healthcare over the next decade whether or not her proposal is implemented.

It is simply the built-in and pre-determined cost of what it costs this nation to have health care. Irrespective of Elizabeth Warren.


The only question remaining is whether one wants to pay for health care out-of-pocket....or pay for it through tax deductions.

Altogether, Warren's plan says that total national health costs would not go up under the single-payer health proposal. Rather, all of the estimated $52 trillion in health spending over a decade would be paid via the federal government.

We have a long, long history of presidents running on dismantling and replacing our healthcare system. FDR was trying to fix it because we all knew what we have is wrong. Most of you are too young to remember from Reagan times onward, presidential candidates ran on fixing the system which all claimed would bankrupt us. What we had was there was no argument that we need to change it.
I read that FDR selected Social Security to spend his presidential capital on. He hoped to get to healthcare later.
Until rightys figured out how to manage and direct public opinion, we had in the back of our minds that we were going to fix it. It needs it badly. But Americans are now convinced that changing it could be bad. Repub rich people have managed to demonize all the countries that have public healthcare. There are people dumb enough to swallow that. There are people on this board that argue we are doing it right and it is great.
How much opinion can be moved in the wrong direction over time is impressive and terrifying.

My insurance at work is wonderful. Premiums are part of my compensation and my max out of pocket for a year is $1000. You do know what compensation is?

The current system is based on the Affordable Care Act or what we all know as Obamacare. It's time to get rid of that shit and go back to what we had before it. It worked perfectly for me and my family.
