96-year-old man writes a love song for his recently deceased wife of 75 years.

Robert and Nora Viands, who were married for more than seven decades, died just hours apart this week at a hospice in Rockford, Ill.

The two were always together during their 71 years of marriage, family members said.

Their deaths 16 hours apart at a Rockford retirement center were a blessing" because each would have been heartbroken without the other, the couple’s son said.

Robert Viands, 92, died at around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.

He had been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.

Nora Viands died at 4:45 p.m.

She was hospitalized with pneumonia in December.

Although it's only been 4 decades, I hope that my last day with my spouse ends similar to that one. Love is a very wonderful thing.
