It has been an issue in women's gymnastics for years and is probably part of the reason we have seen so many sexual assaults, mental and physical abuse stories out of that side of the sport. They are often very young and the elite trainers hold their entire futures in their hands. Women might get 2 shots at the Olympics if their birthdays fall just right, but usually only 1. Men can almost always get 2 shots and sometimes 3 if their knees and shoulders both hold out.
