"A diversified elite is not made any the less elite by its diversity.”

If debates about poverty have become warped by a longstanding view that attributes blame to the individual, debates about inequality have become distorted by a more contemporary trend: the increasing tendency to look at equality in terms of “diversity”. “When you ask them for more equality, what they give you is more diversity,” observes the American academic Walter Benn Michaels. “But a diversified elite is not made any the less elite by its diversity.”

"Equality and diversity are not, however, synonymous. Even as societies and institutions have become more diverse, many have also become more unequal. What has been created, Reed sardonically observes, is a “moral economy” in which “a society in which 1% of the population controlled 90% of the resources could be [regarded as] just, provided that roughly 12% of the 1% were black, 12% were Latino, 50% were women and whatever the appropriate proportions were LGBT people”.

So diversity isnt the problem elitism is the problem. Therefore the goal is to make everyone equally miserable thereby ensuring misery for everyone.

Are you genuinely a moron or do you say stupid stuff just to be an asshole?

I'm an asshole regardless but if I didn't say stupid shit I could never have a conversation with you. Since you've attacked me and not addressed what I said that's a sign that I'm right on the money and it goes up your ass sideways.

No you don't get it that's what makes you a retarded leftist. Every time you people abandon the topic that's how we know you have no valid argument. You don't give a shit about diversity and never have it's equal poverty you want for everyone.

Obviously you did not read the text I posted from the article. Not my problem you're an illiterate asshole.

Diversity policies, in other words, do not necessarily challenge inequality, but simply make it “fairer”. Most of those who advocate diversity policies do so because they abhor inequality. Yet, in the shift from “equality” to “diversity”, the most marginalised have often been forgotten. The focus shifted from addressing the needs of working-class people from minority communities to providing better opportunities for middle-class professionals. “The fact that some people of colour are rich and powerful,” Michaels observes, should not be “regarded as a victory for all the people of colour who aren’t”.

"There are few issues today not shaped by class divides. The trouble is, whether moralising poverty or mistranslating equality as diversity, the ways in which we discuss the impact of class on people’s lives too often helps only to obscure that reality."

There it is shithead. Funny how you left that last part out. The new battleground will be over "class". You people hate rich blacks as much as you gate rich whites. You can't say that out loud YET but that is coming. You can already see how you leftist pieces of shit treat black conservatives. You dont believe they are black. You filthy fucks

When I was a boy in Boston, none of us had ever been on a school bus.
We all walked to a school right in our own neighborhood.
Every neighborhood had them and took pride in them.
That was one of the huge advantages of urban life.

Then somebody decided that if neighborhoods were insufficiently ethnically diverse,
their schools were de facto segregated schools.

They instituted "bussing" to send kids unnecessarily out of their own neighborhoods,
and this started severe racial animosity that had not previously existed.

It was singularly the most stupid thing that I had ever seen Boston do, and age-wise, I only just missed being personally effected by it.

If some schools were not as well provisioned as others, then a greater percentage of the available funding should have been diverted to them.
Putting kids on busses as if they were shitkickers from fucking Kansas was monumentally stupid.

Then, at the very beginning of my adulthood, is when I realized that diversity should be a non-issue in terms of social policy.
In public policy, we should be completely color-blind toward race as if it didn't exist.
