I strive for your perfection, Tom.
I have never claimed to be perfect. However the misuse of loose and lose, there and they're, there and they're, affect and effect really piss me off.
Grammar Nazi's are idiots.

I have some pet peeves as well, that doesn't mean I go around feeling morally superior to others.
The use of literally in that way is appropriate. In language, the meaning of words often becomes abstracted and used to mean other things. In Shakespeare's day, we used to only use the word "going" to mean "I am going to this place". Now we often use it to mean "I'm going to do it". This is literally how language evolved. Without this process, there would be no language. Should we freeze grammar in place beginning with the mid-20th century in order to make things "correct"?
LOL Why Tom?I have never claimed to be perfect. However the misuse of loose and lose, there and they're, there and their, to and too, affect and effect really pisses me off.
No, but a brain that is as fast as my fingers would be nice!At any moment in time there are rules, that is not to say that language doesn't evolve and change. Would you prefer to have no rules at all?
That may have more to do with your being a degenerate Skidmark.I have some pet peeves as well, that doesn't mean I go around feeling morally superior to others.
Well no......but you know what they say about rules? At any moment in time there are rules, that is not to say that language doesn't evolve and change. Would you prefer to have no rules at all?
ItsIt's been my experience that those who obsess over grammar usually don't have much of interest to write about.
My problem is I typetotoo fast and I'm not usually thinkingtotoo much aboutgrammergrammar or spelling.
Yeah, this thread sucks. Thanks, Tom...
