A perfect example of judicial overreach

This is a perfect example of judicial overreach by a single, lowest tier, federal judge who in effect is determining national domestic policy. That is, this judge is acting as if he were President.

A federal judge blocked the Trump administration Monday from ending a program that aimed to revoke the legal status for 600,000 Venezuelans to live and work temporarily in the U.S. and leave 350,000 vulnerable to deportation.

Chen ruled that ending the program could harm hundreds of thousands of people, cost the economy billions of dollars and injure public health and safety. He also said the government hadn’t identified any real harm in keeping the program.

Chen, in that second paragraph, ruled on the basis of politics and domestic policy, not legal standing or standing law. That is, he acted as President.

Chen went on to cite his version of foreign policy as further reason for his ruling.

Chen noted that Venezuela remains "so rife with economic and political upheaval and danger that the State Department has categorized Venezuela as a 'Level 4: Do Not Travel' country 'due to the high risk of wrongful detentions, terrorism, kidnapping, the arbitrary enforcement of local laws, crime, civil unrest, poor health infrastructure.'"

So, a Leftist, Democrat judge appointed by Obama is setting national policy on immigration now. He should at a minimum be smacked down hard by the appellate and Supreme court for doing so. This ruling is completely illegal and far beyond the purview of his court. This judge is playing President. He has no legal right or standing to do so. He is a menace to the country.
