A President unfit for a pandemic

While the spread of the novel coronavirus has been aggressive around the world, much of the profound impact it will have here in the United States was preventable. As the American public braces itself for the worst of this crisis, it’s worth remembering that the reach of the virus here is not attributable to an act of God or a foreign invasion, but a colossal failure of leadership.

From another post here

So the guy who waited 6 months to even declare a national emergency for H1N1 after it had already infected millions of Americans and killed more than a thousand...is smearing the president who IMMEDIATELY banned travel from China (which Democrats opposed and smeared him as racist for while demanding that he focus on the flu instead), expanded screenings, forced quarantines, established a coronavirus incident management system, and started work on a vaccine...as not reacting quickly enough?

"Even after the H1N1 pandemic that claimed as many as 18,000 American lives according to CDC estimates, Obama's response to the Ebola pandemic later is his presidency was similarly wrought with problems--so much so that even the Obama White House and the CDC acknowledged there were multiple “shortcomings” in the administration’s response. Those shortcomings may have been the result of Obama axing the White House pandemic response office in 2009, which was reinstated in 2016 specifically because of his administration's poor response to the Ebola pandemic."

Barack Obama Falsely Accuses Trump of 'Ignoring Warnings of a Pandemic'

to paraphrase badly [you go into war w/ the president you have, not the one you want]...

IMHO trump did fumble the ball initially, but he won't be graded/judged by how this started out, but how it finished......... :|

If only we had handled this like Taiwan. Wow. They really got a grip on it.

They were prepared and acted early.

They went to school on the SARS outbreak and learned their lesson.

Too bad we could not have acted so decisively instead of giving it the ho hum, go-through-the-motions-and-pretend approach.

We had drills. What was that? Meaningless?

A President unfit for any serious presidential role.

Right on:

"It’s not too much for Americans to ask of their leaders that they be competent and informed when responding to a crisis of historic proportions. Instead, they have a White House marred by corruption and incompetence, whose mixed messages roil the markets and rock their sense of security. Instead of compassion and clarity, the president, in his near-daily addresses to the nation, embodies callousness, self-concern, and a lack of compass. Dangling unverified cures and possible quarantines in front of the public like reality TV cliffhangers, he unsettles rather than reassures. The pandemic reveals that the worst features of this presidency are not merely late-night comedy fodder; they come at the cost of lives, livelihoods, and our collective psyche."

The OP link nailed it.

Hilarious. Only in your TDS infected little mind. To the world, he looks large and in charge. Showing what executive experience looks like.

To the world, he’s a fucking joke.

He screwed the pooch on this one and people are dying as a result. S. Korea had a detection on the same day as the US and accomplished something in 10 days that Trump took 6 weeks to do. Unmatched incompetence.

Dream on, moonbat.

Imagine where we'd be with a moonbat like Hillary at the helm. The borders would have been wide open so as not to be "waycist"! lmao

Trump is AWESOME.
