This is for the REAL Libertarians and the REAL champions of the people. Sort of my version of bac's post.
Romney is a dud. He DOES NOT support limited government. If you don't know that then you are FOOL and/or a TOOL. He has stated flatly that he will not reduce spenidng and wants to pin military spending to GDP in order to make it harder to cut government in the future.
It does not matter who you vote for anyway. But, I suggest Johnson or Klein unless you think your state is a toss-up. If it is toss up then I lean towards Obama and I have articulated the reasons for that clearly, while he supposed libertarians leaning towards Romney have nada. However, an old friend, who was sort of a Green (but more libertarian than some who claim to be), has talked me down from that. I am sure Obama will win anyway. You can always stay home too. Under no circumstances should you vote for Romney, unless you want bigger more oppressive government and a repeat of Bush.
Support the GOP in congress, especially the Ron Paul Republicans. If you can't do that, then vote for a Green or write in some name, e.g., Klein. The RP Republicans will check Obama if he is lying and help him if he is sincere in his desire to end the police/warfare state. The obstructionism and do nothingness of congress will have to end as it will only lead to losses in the midterm. The strategists know this.
This might be Obama's strategy if reelected. That is, he may only go for what he knows will fail and try to paint the GOP as obstructionist. If he does he might win the next midterms at the expense of our losses or it might blow up in his face. It did not work for Clinton/Gore, which may be why Biden is VP instead of someone that might have a chance of winning the White House.
What did work was reforming welfare and focusing on squeezing more efficiency from government services. Also, Clinton continued and benefited from the peace dividend that began under Bush.
A vote for ObamaRomney is a vote for war, the police state, higher REAL taxes, bigger government and crony capitalism.
Neither Johnson nor Klein has much of a chance of winning. If you really support them then a contribution of shoe leather will do more than your vote.
The point? To deny them their mandate and send a message that we are not happy. Some people might tell you to go ahead and flush your toilets and vote for ObamaRomney. But, in this case, that won't get rid of the sewage.
