For your education:Leonard Peltier (born September 12, 1944, Grand Forks, North Dakota, U.S.) is a Native American (mostly Ojibwa) activist who, after becoming one of the best-known indigenous rights activists in North America, was convicted in 1977 of having murdered two Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents. His case became a cause célèbre after the irregularities in his extradition and trial came to light, and his supporters consider him a political prisoner. His supporters spent decades lobbying for parole or presidential clemency, and Peltier’s life sentence was commuted by Pres. Joe Biden in January 2025. Peltier was released from prison the following month.

Peltier is a repeat offender / felon and has either attempted or committed murder on multiple occasions. He also escaped from a federal prison. His involvement in the American Indian Movement was peripheral at best and most of the time his involvement was in the role of terrorist (eg., violent resistance).

Hmm, so not only are you PROUD of your ignorance, you try to cover it with a smoke screen of race baiting taunts and diatribes and more willfully ignorant BS. That you ignore the content of the fact-based link is testament to the IQ level of the typical Magat/Alt-Right troll.
In 1979 Peltier was transferred to Lompoc (California) prison, where he learned of plans to “remove” him. Allegedly in fear for his life, Peltier escaped from Lompoc, but he was recaptured a few days later. An additional seven years were added to his two consecutive life sentences, but that judgment and sentence were later reversed.
Now ask yourself, dimwit .... why would an additional sentence for an escaped prisoner of Peltier's notoriety be reversed UNLESS there was some validity to his fears of being "removed"?
Like it or not, the "grudge" match against Peltier was a legal injustice of the highest order. That they couldn't even give the guy a full pardon is testament to how some white folk just can't stand those uppity "injuns' winning on any level.

Escape from prison is escape from prison. If he thought his life was in danger from other inmates, he could have asked for protection from the staff.
What difference does it make if it were reversed? He was serving two life sentences. That's one too many in my view. After the first, you get the death penalty since life in prison didn't work. That's how I see it.
But it's okay. Peltier is a native American and a POS to boot. He'll almost certainly get drunk and fuck up massively PDQ.

Once again I have to deconstruct your stupidity sentence by sentence.
1. No shit?!?! And who said it was "other inmates"? Anyone familiar with the man's history with the FBI and the US gov't at the time (which obviously YOU ARE NOT) knows he wasn't referring to other prisoners. Once again, YOU insert your bias laden supposition and conjecture into a narrative. Again, why would an additional sentence for an escaped prisoner of Peltier's notoriety be reversed UNLESS there was some validity to his fears of being "removed"?
2 - 6. It makes all the difference in the world, you nit! It means that there was something not kosher in that prison that justified the man's actions .... one of the reasons why he was moved to another prison later. And since you can't "see" the complete BS of his conviction based on new found and revealed evidence through the years in the first place, your subsequent opinion on this particular case is worthless.

Yep, you blame the government and law enforcement first. My bet is Peltier was full of shit and trying to game the system for some reason. Why would the staff be singling him out?
With Native Americans, it's virtually always Got drunk and... followed by the most insane, depraved, violence you can imagine.
So, you're ill-informed guesses and bullshit defending someone who was a repeat felon, had a history of violence, and ended up in prison for it is par for the Left. Blame law enforcement and decent society for the problem when it was the violent criminal that was wholly at fault.
