Praise be to Allaah.

According to Islaamic Sharee’ah, it is not permitted to keep a dog except within narrowly-defined limits, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) explained: "Whoever keeps a dog, his good deeds will decrease every day by one qeeraat (a unit of measurement), unless it is a dog for farming or herding." According to another report: ". . . unless it is a dog for herding sheep, farming or hunting." (Reported by al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, 2322)

Dogs are extremely naajis (impure, unclean). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "If a dog drinks from the vessel of any one of you, let him wash it seven times" (reported by Muslim, no. 279). According to another report: ". . . and clean it the eighth time with earth." (Saheeh Muslim, no. 280).

It is forbidden in Islaam to sell a dog and to receive payment for it, as is reported in Saheeh al-Bukhaari from Abu Mas’oud al-Ansaari: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade (accepting) the price of a dog. (al-Fath, no. 2237)

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us not to resemble dogs by placing our forearms on the ground during sujood (prostration), as in reported in the hadeeth narrated by Anas ibn Maalik, according to which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Do sujood properly; none of you should spread his forearms like a dog does." (al-Bukhaari, Fath, no. 822).

Whoever keeps a dog in his house is denied the blessing of the angels’ presence in his house, as the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog." (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 3225).

Keeping dogs nowadays is the habit of the kuffaar, who adopt them as friends, kiss them, let them lick them and their clothes, sleep with them and even leave them money in their wills. Keeping a dog is an imitation of the kuffaar. Some Muslims may claim that they need to keep a dog at home for purposes of protection, to which we respond that nowadays there are burglar alarm systems and other measures one may take for security purposes, and there is no need to keep a dog, praise be to Allaah.

Apparently certain self-proclaimed animal lovers are prepared to ignore the cruelty of Muslims.

I'm not clicking on your links, which must be pretty horrific. I don't know how you can do this. You must hate animals as much as you hate people.

The Qur'an contains three mentions of dogs:

  • Verse 5:4 says "Lawful for you are all good things, and [the prey] that trained [hunting] dogs and falcons catch for you."
  • Verse 18:18 describes the Companions of the Cave, a group of saintly young men presented in the Qurʼan as exemplars of religion, sleeping with "their dog stretching out its forelegs at the threshold." Further on, in verse 22, the dog is always counted as one of their number, no matter how they are numbered. In Muslim folklore, affectionate legends have grown around the loyal and protective qualities of this dog, whose name in legend is Qiṭmīr.[SUP][53][/SUP][SUP][54][/SUP][SUP][55][/SUP]
Hunting dogs and the dog of the Companions of al-Kahf (Arabic: الـكـهـف‎, the Cave) are described in a positive light, and the companionship of these dogs is mentioned with approval. The Qurʼan, thus, contains not even a hint of the condemnation of dogs found in certain ḥadīths.[SUP][56][/SUP]

Facts are facts, Christiecrite, and your failure to face them is evidence of you giving a tacit pass to Muslims who mistreat animals.

If you cared about the suffering of animals, you'd fight it no matter who the perpetrators are.

Clearly you have a different standard for Muslims.

Clearly you've been backed into a corner and are reduced to posting inanities. Sad! :D

Clearly I posted visible (and audible) evidence of organized, wholesale abuse of dogs by Muslims motivated by religious belief and you're too much of a moral coward to face it.

I knew you'd find a way to ignore it and find a way to kid yourself that this is true:

^ Me either. When I hear about people mistreating animals I could kill them with my bare hands.

But it's not true, and now we both know it.

Meh...it’s not like they’re Internet trolls.

Well Lesion it just goes to show you. Everyday a grape licks a friendly cow.

No...not at all. You've missed our point entirely. We're saying YOU should be ignored.

Yet here you are.

Like Christiecrite, you look the other way as Muslims systemically abuse animals. That's giving them a pass, isn't it?

Tell me, did your gay brother approve of what Muslims do to homosexuals? Do you give Muslims a pass for killing gays?

Does your Filipina mail-order wife approve of what Muslims do in her native country? Do you give Muslims a pass for kidnapping and beheading people in the Philippines?

Could GBA be acting more pitiful, and scummy. We get that you need attention, but please go easy on yourself. If you get too embarrassing, people will turn, and leave without giving you any troll kibble. I love dogs my self, and would get in between a bear if it went after my sweety. I don't hate people, even for their sins. If I did, how could I look at myself, and forgive myself, for the stupid, and wrong things I've done in the past. That's how a Christian is taught to handle things.
