Abe Vigoda dies at 94 years old.

Actor Abe Vigoda, an instantly recognizable face to millions of TV and movie fans across the country passed away this week, according to The Associated Press.

Most fans first saw Vigoda in the 1972 classic film, “The Godfather.”

Vigoda played Sal Tessio, a family friend to the Corleones who plots to kill Michael Corleone in a private meeting following the death of his father.

After the meeting is foiled, Vigoda utters a line that has since gone down in movie history.

“Tell Mike it was only business,” Vigoda says after being led away from the meeting.

That line, and Vigoda’s distinct appearance helped catapult him to character actor stardom, eventually leading to a pivotal roll on the 1970s hit show “Barney Miller.”

After decades in show business, many younger fans will remember Vigoda for his dozens of memorable appearances on shows hosted by Conan O’Brien.

Over the years, Vigoda was used as the butt of countless O’Brien jokes, usually concerning how he was still alive.

In recent years, Vigoda achieved some viral acclaim thanks to a number of death hoaxes that populated the Internet.

Unfortunately, the news of Vigoda’s passing that was announced on Tuesday afternoon is not a hoax.

Abe Vigoda was 94 years old.
