If the judge was too lenient, you have the fucking power to appeal!

The miscarriages of justice and sentences grossly out of proportion to the crime are getting way out of control in this country. And guess what - they don't have any appeal! It's better to let a few people off light than to send people to jail for life for stealing razor blades. It's easy to say "Hey, I'm tough on crime", but it's hard to actually give out such grossly unfair sentences.

I agree, its a shame when you take the human element out of such an important decision. I knew many ways around the mandentory min's when I was a prosecutor and defense attorney, BUT the law should not exist.
