So Republicans in Congress, in it's quest to do anything but find jobs, fix the economy, or pass a budget, are having more hearings. This time on abortion.
Here's some "testimony" from an ex-abortion doctor.
The law being discussed is one proposed by Rep. Trent Franks, (R), Arizona, to outlaw late term pregnancies, even in the case of "rape, incest, health risk to the mother, or fetal abnormalities". Only 1.2% of abortions, btw, are late term; and nearly all of them are due to these reasons.
Two things to note: Republicans were so anxious to get the word out they were literally begging Dr. Levantino to produce a video of all the gory details of a late term abortion. Oh, goodie!
Secondly, the Dr. bragged to the committee how happy he is that he and his wife are so rich and so committed they were able to find a nice little baby to privately adopt their own child.
I have a question...
Why couldn't this doctor, who probably paid tens of thousands of dollars to hand pick his own baby, offer to adopt the baby of one of those hundreds of women he gave abortions to? Late term or not?
With all of his money (he also bragged to the committee how profitable abortions are), why couldn't he even adopt one of these babies seriously deformed or brain dead in a vegetative state that this bill will force to be born?
Why doesn't he start advocating for adoption of these children?
