"Women I know are outraged that Democrats think that women are nothing more than helpless and hopeless creatures whose only goal in life is to have the government provide for them birth control medication.

Women I know are smart, educated, intelligent, capable of doing anything that anyone else can do. Our party stands for the recognition of the equality of women and the capacity of women. That’s not a war on them, that’s a war for them.

And if the Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of government then so be it!

Let us take that discussion all across America because women are far more than the Democrats have played them to be. And women across America have to stand up and say enough of that nonsense."

23-79-1103. Parity for contraceptives.
23 (a) Every health benefit policy that is delivered, issued, executed,
24 or renewed in this state or approved for issuance or renewal in this state by
25 the Insurance Commissioner on or after the effective date of this subchapter
26 that provides coverage for prescription drugs on an outpatient basis shall
27 provide coverage for prescribed drugs or devices approved by the United
28 States Food and Drug Administration for use as a contraceptive.




I didn't notice anything that refers to a woman's libido?

What about the portion of the women for whom birth control pills are prescribed for medical conditions? I think I recall reading somewhere that they make up around half of the women who are on them.

You're right about that....Huckabee was somewhat out of line in his choice of words.....(seems to be problem with many conservative politicians)
he should have stressed the difference between 'contraception' and 'birth control medication'....
the difference is huge and meaningful....

Providing tax payer funded contraception is totally different that providing needed medication, medication that should be covered by health insurance and
prescribed by a qualified doctor's diagnosis of a medical problem.....

The clueless chauvinist pig Mr. Huckabee can keep his hypocritical snout out of my libido and every other woman's to boot.

Mr. Huckabee would do well to heed this quote: "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt."

Of course you understand that was his accusation of what Democrats are doing....he says it is them that are sticking their hypocritical snouts into your libido by claiming you
