Damn, I got my hopes up and thought Legion was leaving.
Well, that's a bummer. A new user leaving...
Could it have anything to do with the reception newbs get from the usual suspects?
By my count, you have 40 members who post here regularly....wonder why?

I don't think so, I've never seen Nemo treated poorly. I don't think it was how Nemo was treated.

Damocles,
I like your site and I plan to stay. That said, I understand why others are leaving. The culture here is one of paranoia. People like Maineman are banned (and rightfully so) for revealing personal information, while psychopaths such as Legion are permitted to dodge, harass, and stalk to their heart's content. Legion contributes nothing to this site; on the contrary, his presence dramatically reduces the quality of the site, just as, say, the presence of a trailer park reduces property value.
My suggestion? Block anonymous proxies. I'm not a networking guy (I work primarily with storage and IIS) but I can think of a few ways to accomplish this. Here's an easy approach: I haven't tried this product, but I've heard good things about it:
http://www.blockscript.com
I believe it's pretty granular, i.e. it allows you to block specific types of proxies.
Please, I beg of you - consider it.

Upon second glance, this product is quite expensive. But there are other options out there.
Because banning people someone doesn't like is the best way to increase membership.Or you could ban Yurt the liar, Iceslut and Loyalintherearend. Problem over. Damn Yankee doesn't matter, no one takes him seriously except himself anyway. Of course that would involve admitting that conservatives act like assholes too.
