Our Dear Leader bungled and mangled the names of the Israeli PM and the Palestinian leader, when he introduced them on national TV at the mid east summit.

It takes three minutes of practice beforehand, to get it right curious George.

Or he could have written it on his hand. I hear that beyonce' has the name fo the city she's in Written on the stage so that when she performs she never forgets where she is. Maybe she should come in to consult.

"Or he could have written it on his hand."

In crayon! (this is Curious George, afterall)

I forgive Beyonce.....I can forgive her anything......:D

Whats more sad than him bungeling the names is that he was elected by the American people at least once and got almost 50% of the votes another time... Against two VERY smart opponants.

That is a very sad illistration of the American voting public.

Two guys who got beat buy BUSH are considered "very smart". LMAO.

Kerry is an idiot. Gore is intelligent, though prone to misguided exagerrations.

Name one "misguided exagerration".
Gore warns about a 20-foot rise in sea level; the IPCC panel estimates "that the world's seas in this century would rise a maximum of 23 inches — down from earlier estimates."

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/03/23/opinion/main2601819.shtml

Ever apocalyptic, Gore says that "our civilization has never experienced any environmental shift remotely similar to this." But Don Easterbrook, a geology professor from Western Washington University, notes that within the last 15,000 years there have been shifts up to "20 times greater than the warming in the past century."

Just a couple from that article. Believe me, we can find many more. Even Al himself said that, "In the United States of America, unfortunately we still live in a bubble of unreality. And the Category 5 denial is an enormous obstacle to any discussion of solutions. Nobody is interested in solutions if they don't think there's a problem. Given that starting point, I believe it is appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous (global warming) is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to what the solutions are, and how hopeful it is that we are going to solve this crisis." -- Al Gore

Heck, he was sung to bed to the lullaby "Look for the Union Label" written in 1975 when he was 27... That's just another one of those pretend stories...

But the number one thing was the point that Al thinks it's all good to exaggerate when speaking on topics he thinks are very important because you are just too stupid to realize that it is so important.

I'm constantly amazed when Bush voters accuse Gore of serial lying and exaggeration. :p. This is the definition of irony.

PS: IPCC report only projects to 2095. Sea level rise does not neccessarily stop magically in 2095. It can continue on from there, assuming we ignore or greenhouse emissions. Surely, weren't not suggesting we don't care about the future past 2095?

Gore never indicated a timeline in the movie. It was certainly dramatic. Its a worst case scenario. But, its plausible. IPCC current projections do not include full ice sheet uncertainty. There is much uncertainty about the dynamics and rate of ice sheet melting. Perhaps Gore, should have explicity said that this was a worst case scenario. That the science to support it is incomplete. But, he's selling a message: Climate change is real. Its a scientific fact. We are altering the climate. And the changes to the climate, if we sit on our hands, could be catastrophic. That's all true.

Your title tells all..............

Cypress, darla,Lady T all idiots of the first degree...........then comes their minions of waterboys et al! Goplay in your kennels more and spend less time in message boards trying to convince everyone how much smarter y'all :rolleyes:are than us!

I'm constantly amazed how anybody criticizing a man who says it is okay to exaggerate on this topic is suddenly a "Bush voter".

Don't be so directly and deliberately disingenuous. It is preposterous to take the man's own word? I don't think it is.

Hummm.............

Do you think W is exhibits high levels of intelligence?

all is relevant...I like the guy...so what? I'm retired and can say what I want and support who I want...no boss to tell me otherwise...tis fun beefy!

as for your boy of choice...what was his name again...never mind the Libertarian dude who wants the US to become Switzerland...now I must admit I like Swiss chocolate and Swiss babes and all...but no way do I want to live in Switzerland...fun to visit...but not wanting to live there...I close my case...carry on in the Hawaiian unemployment roles though...to each there own...:D

Sorry, my irony comment was about two-time bush voter SF, complaining about the alleged serial exaggerations of bush. That is just rich irony.

My sea level comments were directed to you.

sorry for the misunderstanding

SF wasn't complaining about Bush, it was gore he complained about.

Anyway, it is clear in context that he was speaking in the near-term and wasn't leaving out the time line for plausible deniability.

He stated himself that it was okay to exaggerate because it was so important. All those exaggerations do is give those who want to deny it fingerholds that they otherwise would not have. It is misguided to misrepresent the science if your goal is to convince others.

23 inches will wipe out all the barrier island types of locations.
Once you conseder storms and such.
One small island nation in the Pacific is expected to be gone in 15-20 years.
I forget the name of the place.

I certainly understood while watching the movie that it was a worst case scenario, and that it was visual and rhetorical device to wake people up to the nature of a possible catastrophe.

It still isn't 20 feet.

My point isn't that he is "wrong", it is that exaggerations give those who seek it a little place to point at the "lies". It isn't the smart thing to do.

And I understood that when he said it was okay to exaggerate to promote that agenda that he meant it was okay to exaggerate to promote that agenda.

No matter which way you go about it, it is and was exaggeration. What you "understood" and what I "understood" appears to differ based on what we think of gore to begin with. Regardless of it, he admits that he exaggerates on this topic and says he does it to get my attention. What it does is give people who seek it a handle to carry "lies" around in, and those who want one reason to distrust him.
