Voters only replaced one pig with a worse pig.Other than try to work out a peace deal in Ukraine, not much from what I can see. My point isn't that Trump is solving much if anything, but that I suspect that the -reason- Trump was elected a second time is because of the mess the U.S. was already in. All of this is utter nonsense, of course, but this American stabbed-in-the-back lie is at the core of Trump’s assaults on democracy.

A sane, rational, and intelligent reader of the articles in this thread would recognize them as for the shallow, radical Leftist, pseudo-intellectual claptrap they are. The writer's position can be summed up in three words: I hate Trump.
Yes, something needs to be done about the radical Left in America. Like the radical Left everywhere throughout history, once they rise to power they destroy the nation they now control. Cuba, Venezuela, China, the Soviet Union, Zimbabwe, N. Korea, the list is long and everyone of these states suffers for having let the radical Left gain control.
I'm not a "flag waver" so I guess this might still be true.
The real irony is you have nothing to argue about what should or would have to happen in America to allow it, in your view, to ascend to greatness. You can rail against Conservatives and the Right, hate on Trump and his supporters, but when it comes to alternative ideas on what should happen, you can't openly and honestly express them because everyone other than another radical Leftist will be immediately opposed to them as well they should.

I've opined many times that I cannot envision the internet as a forum for serious debate.
It's too loose, disorganized, not neat or tidy, and too populist.
For me, the internet is a venue for venting, and as you've obviously observed,
that's exactly how I use it.
That's its value to me,
and to a lot of others who can't seem to admit it to themselves.
As for "divide and conquer," I don't attribute that to any conspiracy.
I thinks it's totally organic and natural.
A huge segment of the American population comprises people who weren't cutting it where they came from--
not the best gene pool to begin with.
Other Americans were brought here by force-- on slave ships.
Indigenous Americans are people who couldn't defend their continent against invaders from abroad.
We're just not an impressive group as a people.
Far beyond that, however, huge factions of us are simply not compatible.
A conservative, religious Middle American does NOT share a lot of DNA
with a secular, coastal progressive. That's simply fact. Our minds don't work alike,
and we find one another to be so weird
that deep down, on a subconscious level, we don't even want to get along.
Look at you and me. You favor capitulation to Putin to avoid war.
For me, the morality of that equals the morality of child molestation at best.
I can't imagine a person who thinks like that
even being the same species as myself.
Genetically, you and I are an example of people not brought into this world to get along.
Some people are simply afflicted with a Pollyanna optimism that has no foundation in reality,
and that's simply a genetic inclination that they can't escape.
That's my honest, sincere view.
