An easy way to get rid of same-sex "marriage" for good

It's honestly this easy;

*States just need to create a new type of license with additional benefits which is only available to opposite-sex couples. (The end result is that what's considered "marriage" now becomes the new "civil union", and the new license in question becomes the new "marriage"; available only to couples of the opposite sex).

*The Supreme Court just needs to rule it Constitutional (and with a court stacked with 6 conservative judges to just 3 liberal ones, this could easily happen)

And voila! Same-sex "marriage" is now gone like it never existed.

Most states would probably want to make this new form of civil union available to gay couples too.

The State should get out of the 'Marriage Business' and just issue 'Civil Union Certificates' for those who want to be a 'Couple'.

The precedence has been set, that straight and gay marriages must be treated the same. As long as that is the precedence, any law making straight marriage different will quickly be struck down. So you might as well try to ban gay marriage outright, and hope the Supreme Court overturns the whole thing.

While the Supreme Court is mostly conservative, they do not like overturning a previous precedence without good reason. And politically, this is a loser. Now Conservatives can rail against same sex marriage, without turning off people who support it. But if they actually do something, they are stuck only getting the votes of people who oppose it.
