Many people shift parties. Perry has been a Republican for a couple of decades now. He campaigned for Gore in 1988.... not in 2000.

All you have to do is look at his voting record to know he is a conservative now.

The same way that I (a democrat) am characterized as a republican by some because I agree with some of the republican principles and disagree with some of the democratic ones. With a lot of people it is all or nothing....especially when it comes to politics. I have a brother-in-law (republican) who fits this bill.

I started to read the article you linked to but stopped after reading this. That's why the modern GOP is so fucked up. Its staffed by a bunch of former pussies, who are mostly still pussies in whatever clothing you want to call it (I was thinking vagina clothing, because that's a good antonym).
