Can anyone even act surprised anymore? If they're not raping women, they're driving around smashed off their ass, or assaulting prisoners.

Former Central Illinois Police Officer Convicted Of Sexual Assault

DANVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- A jury in Danville has convicted a former part-time police officer of sexually assaulting a woman after he pulled her car over last year.

David Lewis is a former officer from Belgium, Illinois, which is about 30 miles east of Champaign.Advertisement


He faces six more trials on 41 other similar charges.

Lewis was convicted of criminal sexual abuse and official misconduct. The jury deliberated for about two hours.

Vermilion County Circuit Judge Claudia Smith Anderson says Lewis will be sentenced later this fall.

Lewis is accused of assaulting seven women while working as a part-time officer in Belgium.

The first trial is limited to two charges involving a woman who worked as a dancer at a Belgium strip club.

Or, perhaps because he was a cop the victims assumed that complaints would only bring reprisals upon them, until the first became public; that would have emboldened the rest to come forward. That sort of thing happens not infrequently when the perpetrator has a position of authority (coaches, priests, teachers, managers, etc.)

A very good point. I would guess this is the more likely of the two scenarios presented.

Umm cops are supposed to be a bit above the average folks out there BB...

That is why we trust them with guns and a large control over our lives....

There's a million of these stories.

There are more corrupt cops than there are drunken ones, and that, is saying something.
 
While I agree with Darla in this case, does anyone else find it a little odd or discomforting that the only 2 areas of government leftwing Liberal Democrats ever complain about are the police and the military?
Probably the 2 most vital and core parts of government.

The police officer is from Illinois, which has had and has now heavy Democrat party control.

I don't see how a different president would have made any difference whatsoever here.

I have thought of that. From my perspective it fits into the liberal sort of mindset of being anti-authority, anti- power structure if you will. The police kind of represent "the man" or "the system".

Darla and cippie go to extremes to find any story that belittles law enforcement or the military...then USC chimes in with his approval...yeah there are bad cops and bad soldiers...as are found in any work of life...these people go to the extreme to cherry pick that which fits their perverted agenda...end of story!

on occassion shit happens and yes sometimes there are bad cops...generally speaking cops are way ahead of the general population per capita basis...give it a rest...if you want facts on problem areas of the work force try for example Dentists...they are at the top of the list for suicide! Does this mean all dentist have mental issues...I think not! and what about Child molestors...most are found in child related professions...teachers,counselors,doctors,dentists.clergy etc...are there some in LE...yes..does this mean LE has more...no!

Yet you gave an absolute. That I wouldn't have anything to worry about anything from LE if I didn't break the law.

I can tell a story about my past that would also make this untrue, but I preferred to use a more famous story.

The simple thing is, mistakes can and are made regularly and sometimes people do actually have to worry about LE even when they haven't broken the law.

I also could give you stories from my past about rogue cops,rogue priests,rogue teachers,rogue firemen,rogue any profession...I made a general comment which turned into a cop bashing syndrome...seek help or at least admit this happens in all professions..LE has the least amount per capita!:eek:
