Much of the Constitution Party’s 2016 platform sounds like the rhetoric heard from the Religious Right’s Christian-nation faction. Its preamble starts this way:

The Constitution Party gratefully acknowledges the blessing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as Creator, Preserver and Ruler of the Universe and of these United States. We hereby appeal to Him for mercy, aid, comfort, guidance and the protection of His Providence as we work to restore and preserve these United States.

The Constitution Party is a far-right fundamentalist political party in the United States, originally called the US Taxpayers Party. It was founded in 1991 by Howard Phillips, a major figure in the New Right who was part of the paleoconservative break away from the New Right at the end of the Cold War. Despite its deceptive name, the party is very authoritarian and has little regard for the principles of US Constitution, and promotes unsupported historical revisionism, asserting that the US was founded as a Christian nation.

Muh constitution was actually based on the Enlightenment and contradicts both the Bible and the Catholic church.

Well at least they got one thing good about them: "Repeal of federal and state laws that they believe violate the right to keep and bear arms."
