WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump got a significant amount of blame during the last partial government shutdown, which took place toward the end of his first term after he forced a shutdown over border wall funding — but with Democrats embracing the shutdown fight this time, the outcome could be very different.

In past shut downs, the GOP took the majority of the blame, but not this time.

In an AP-NORC poll conducted during that shutdown, about 7 in 10 Americans said Donald Trump had “a great deal” or “quite a bit” of responsibility for the partial shutdown. About 6 in 10 said that about Republicans in Congress, and roughly half said that about Democrats in Congress.

Initially, the Democrat Voters thought forcing a shutdown would allow them to force their demands, particularly for free stuff for illegals.

Registered Democrats may have been more eager than voters overall to see their party’s leadership force a shutdown: 47% said the Democrats should refuse to fund the government if their demands were not met. The move was less popular among independents and Republicans. About 9 in 10 Republicans and roughly 6 in 10 independents said Democrats should not shut down the government, even if their demands were not met.

The Voters Blame both sides about equally, and about a third Blame BOTH parties.

About one-quarter of registered voters in the Times/Siena poll — which was conducted prior to the shutdown — said they would blame Trump and the Republicans in Congress if a shutdown happened, while about 2 in 10 said they would place blame on congressional Democrats. About one-third said they’d blame both sides equally.

But! It is an ill wind indeed that blows good to no man!

What if they shut the government down, and it just died, and never came back?

Well, maybe not the whole government, but large chunks of it.

USAID’s is already gone, and good riddance. EPA, HHS, HUD, and DOL could go too for starters, none of them are in the Constitution. Progressives twisted “General Welfare” to cover every meddling bureaucrat, from power-hungry agents fining contractors over extension cords on the floor to regulating how much water you can use to flush your morning shit.

The Founders were very clear, these things belong to the states, letting them compete with different visions to deliver what’s best for citizens. The Federalist Papers spell it out, keep the federal government small, or it’ll crush liberty. We’ve gone way off the rails, and now most people are fine with the feds handing out entitlements.

Social Security for example is the biggest scam ever pulled on Americans. It’s a 14% tax on every dollar you make, from your first teenage job to your last day 50 years later. If you live long enough to get anything back, it’s pennies, not enough for a decent life. Invest that 14% in the safest investment possible, and you’d have more than enough to retire comfortably with dignity, with cash left for your family d

Hospitals are required to treat everyone that shows up at an emergency room. Everyone includes citizens, veterans and undocumented persons. People without access to insurance or health care are more likely to show up at emergency rooms because that is the only health care they can receive. When these people can't pay their medical bills, hospitals must charge others that can pay more to cover the loses or else they will be forced to close. It is actually cheaper in the long run to provide health insurance for everyone.

Health care will never be affordable while companies like United Health are recording almost $100 billion in profits every year. That means United Health is making a profit of over $3,000 per person they insure. That is PROFIT. Just imagine if every one of those insured had another $3,000 in their pocket.
