Are guns a security blanket to many?

Mine are mostly steel and plastic which aren't good insulators. I suppose I could burn the wood stock on my old shotgun but that would only keep me warm for a while.

What kind or retard ax'd such a question?

Not really. It is more like taking a fire extinguisher out of a home or disconnecting a smoke alarm.

Of course, many people own guns that they use for other tasks ranging from pest removal to hunting to target shooting.
