“WASHINGTON (AP) — House Democrats are demanding the release of a transcript from a new FBI witness that they say contradicts Republicans’ claims in the expanding congressional inquiry into President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.”

“Rep. Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on House Oversight Committee, sent a letter Friday to Rep. James Comer, the Republican chair of the committee, asking him to produce the transcribed interview this month with an FBI agent who worked on the investigation into the younger Biden’s taxes and foreign business dealings. The witness was interviewed on July 17.”

“The Maryland lawmaker claimed the closed-door interview with the unidentified agent conducted by committee staff “directly undermined” testimony released by Republicans last month from two IRS whistleblowers who allege that the Justice Department interfered with their yearslong investigation into Hunter Biden.”

“House rules allow only the majority party to release transcribed interviews from a committee investigation, meaning minority Democrats have no direct power over the matter.”

We've turned the presidency into some sort of trashy reality show [apt description for all reality shows, btw].

As constituents, we don't even need to know who the president's fucking family even is--

his kids, his wife, his dogs, his mistress, his golf buddies--

none of it is any of our fucking business. NONE OF IT.

All we need is a president who stays the fuck off television and effectively PRESIDES over his cabinet, i.e., does his actual fucking job.

We've turned our entire culture and society into a pop culture artifact,
and only the very most intelligent among us seem to be embarrassed by it.

I'll give you all this. This is what SHOULD be happening. IF the president actually does their job.

we don't have that though and I remember from a previous post that you don't care at all if a president is corrupt and enriches themselves and their family at your expense, just so long as he provides you with some of what you want.

call me crazy, but that's just wrong on so many levels.

You interpreted my remarks to mean that I don't care.

What I meant was that corruptions costs us millions while bad policy costa us trillions.

First, institute good policies with capable people.

Then find a way to control the difference
between the normal perks of the powerful
and outright corruption.

Ah, no, that is a cop out, the right is making their case against Hunter based on what individuals said, not proof they offered, but on what they said, and if they were actually looking for the truth, they’d include everything everyone said, even those that refute the testimony of the suppose whistleblowers

The private life of a president is extremely relevant. They can be compromised and harm our Republic.

Presidents can be blackmailed and harm our Republic.

When did we stop expecting holders of our highest elective office to be examples of integrity and honesty?

Affirmative action at the VP level and other high governmental positions…a plan for disaster.
