If so, consider this.

If you believe that it's realistic to expect battery banks to keep your lights on when wind doesn't blow and sun doesn't shine, do you understand the scope of the modern demand for electricity?

Greens across the pond are triumphantly touting "The Biggest Battery in Europe" (600 MW/2,400 MWh ) thinking it would keep their grid alive when wind and sun can't cope.

It's huge. It's expensive. Its so-called "carbon footprint" is immense.

Batteries are a ridiculously expensive, ineffective solution for a ridiculously expensive & ineffective form of energy generation. Don't even think about where the minerals for these Brobdingnagian batteries come from, or who's mining them. Or how they can be recycled (or disposed of) when they wear out.

Turns out it would be drained by current demand in 17 seconds.

The largest battery storage in the world is the Moss Landing Energy Storage Facility in gruesome Newsom's deep Blue California.

So far, it's cost $560 million.

It reportedly has major overheating problems. Not so good if you believe in "global warming", I suppose.

It might be able to supply California with power for 4 hours, if it ever works at all.

When they foolishly think it's not their money being consumed, leftists are OK with burning huge piles of it to little effect.

Boston reached a record high of 66° on this date in 1881.

New York hit 67° .

Washington, D.C. was 70°.

If this warmth occurred now, would leftist "climate experts" blame your Dodge Ram 2500 and fondness for steak?

I suspect they would.

And, researchers have discovered only in the last decade or so that the Amazon rainforest pretty much didn't exist in pre-Columbian America. Instead, the basin was occupied by millions and was more like open forest and cultivated fields with numerous towns and even cities across it.

So much for "lungs of the planet."

That's called weather.

Offshore wind turbines often have a blade life before delamination of around 5 to 15 years, and a gearbox life expectancy of around 10 to 15 years in the salt-laden offshore environment.

The worn-out blades are buried in landfills.

The maintenance difficulty is well-known, and the cost is huge.

Looks as though offshore wind turbines are proving to be expensive nightmares with very little benefit. There's a reason flour mills are no longer wind-powered.
