They do not want cheep oil, and they do not want to invest in unstable nations with a history of anti American revolutions.

Venezuela is still run by the Madura regime. The opposition is being arrested on the streets.

From what I've seen, it's Chevron that benefits from this, no others. Agreed that cheap oil, meaning less than $50/barrel, is bad for the oil companies.
