Aug 28th: National "Exercise your rights" day!

/MSG/

Uwaa OmO
Reverand Jesse Jackson, for those unaware, has called for people to use their 1st amendment rights to protest in anti gun/anti violence marches in cities across the country. And while I disagree with the good Reverand, I support his effort to get people active. Therefore I call on all of the good members of JustPlainPolitics.com to exercise your 1st and 2nd amendment rights tomorrow. Show your support of the constitution by purchasing a gun, some ammo, or donating to a 2A fund. Because your rights are like your muscles; if you dont exercise them, you lose them.

I already have plenty of ammo, plus it is getting darned expensive due to Iraq. getting expensive to kill people now a days.

Perhaps I can exercise my right by punching out some bushies at a republican rally ?

Ammo is expensive for a multitude of reasons. China being a bigger one than Iraq. OSHA is another one. However if I may, 22lr is still pretty cheap, along with common pistol calibers. I just bought over 2500 rounds today myself.

Ohh if the search my place I will show up as a gun nut. I probaqbly have 5-6,000 rounds of various ammo and many guns. Actually I have not bought but one gun in a while though. bought a little 9mm Tarus auto for a concealed carry gun, but have never carried it since I got my permit :)
yeah I like the .22 cal cheap to shoot.

If you haven't bought one in a while, I suggest a Mosin Nagant rifle. They're super cheap right now ($70) and are a fun, cheap to shoot, peice of history.

Most of mine are a piece of history. I have an old Mauser 8mm I paid $12 for many years ago. WW2 vintage. Still a good gun though.
I have an origional KY long rifle, family heirloom. .36 cal if I remember right, just have it greased up good and in a nice wooden case. Have not shot it since I was a kid.
plus about 15 more assorted ones, My first .22, etc...

I'm still rather fond of the Chris Rock school of gun control. You can own all the guns you want to but we make sure every bullet costs at least $5,000. Works for me.

Nah..............

Old fashioned here...will keep the old Thompson 45 cal sub 1937 issue..good old dependable firearm...with mag and drum...lol

...Which I would more than gladly fill.

You can get Mosin's at a number of places. Big 5, Dicks, Dunhams, alot of sporting good stores carry them. Online JGsales.com, Impactguns.com, Centuryarms.com and many others. They're currently the best deal on surplus rifles around, and have a multitude of utilitarian purposes. History, hunting, target shooting (with proper ammuntion). Plus if all else fails and you have to use it in a fight, you can feel safe that it doubles as a club.

Now on to the subject of gun control (since it was brought up). What would you, Ornot, beleive is a reasonable measure of gun control?
