Remember bac was saying how the LP was not supportive of Paul and that libertarians did not like him in general. Well, he's a dumbass...

Libertarian National Committee Passes Pro Ron Paul Resolution
Posted by Chris Brunner at 11:10 AM

In a move most unusual for this body, the Libertarian National Committee just adopted a resolution encouraging Ron Paul to seek the Libertarian Party presidential nomination. The LNC is meeting in Charleston, SC this weekend.

The resolution recognized Paul’s standing and history with the Libertarian Party. It also recognized a renewed passion that Paul has ignited across America.

From the resolution:

In the event that Republican primary voters select a candidate other than Congressman Paul in February of 2008, the Libertarian National Committee invites Congressman Ron Paul to seek the presidential nomination of the Libertarian Party to be decided in Denver, Colorado during the Memorial Day weekend of 2008.

The motion was raised by former Congressman Bob Barr and approved unanimously by the board.

In a related motion, the Libertarian Party voted to authorize the use of their Ballot Base database application in support of the Ron Paul campaign in New Hampshire. This motion passed unanimously, as well. The vote also allows Libertarian Party presidential candidates to utilize Ballot Base in states which have a Libertarian Party primary.

Is there a fall down roll over and laugh my ass off icon available? .. Because "LOL" just doesn't convey the absolute joyful hilarity that shit likes this provides me. This so incredibly dumb on so many levels that I'm not sure I can capture all the dumbness in one post.

Once AGAIN, the lack of political intelligence and desperation by Paul supporters is on glaring display. In fact, this thread VALIDATES every damn thing I've said about Paul.

First, I did not say he couldn't get the LP nomination, I said it would be difficult because the LP already has candidates and there are many libertarians who would not want to see him at the top of their parties ticket. There is no question that many libertarians not only don't want to see him at the top of the ticket, but also don't believe he's much of a libertarian. Just one example of the MANY examples that can be easily found that demonstrate this ...
Is He Good for the Libertarians?
Why some libertarians don't want to join the Ron Paul revolution.

Secondly .. Sir Stringfield's touting of this desperation proves that he and other Ronbots are finally coming to the world's most obvious conclusion .. so obvious that Ray Charles could see it from the grave .. Ron Paul has no chance of every winning the republican nomination and he never has. He's a MINOR bit player, which is all he is and has ever been. All the benchmarks that I and others have pointed out that validate his minor status are coming home to roost and all the denial is sinking in.

His national polling average among republicans is 2.7%

His support from republicans in Iowa is 3.8%

Let's hear some more bullshit about "scientific polls don't matter" and the importance of crap like internet polls, straw polls, and MySpace hits. Please, amuse me with some more of that ignorance.

Additionally, this proves that the LP is nothing more than a cult of political novices and a rag-tag collection of lunatics from all over the political spectrum. What serious political party would even think of doing something like this and put a failed cast-off from another parties nominating process at the top of their ticket .. and be so desperate to do so that they change their rules to accomodate a failure? Some libertarians have no problem with this because after all, the LP is Republican Party-lite.

The Libertarian Party was founded by the disgruntled chairman of the Colorado Young Republicans and all past Libertarian Party Presidential candidates, except one, have been republicans, and many of them have returned to the Republican Party .. AND .. every single elected Libertarian State Legislator in New Hampshire and Alaska were affiliated with the Republican Party.

AND, what fool believes that Paul running as a libertarian would make the slightest goddamn difference in the election at all?

Ron Paul doesn't.

Paul turns down invitation to seek Libertarian Party nomination
Lake Jackson congressman won't run for president on third-party ticket.

Haven't we heard this song before .. Paul running for president as a libertarian resulting in 00000000000000.04% of the vote?

Sir Stringfield, you don't know shit about politics and even less about how to make a political argument. But I do enjoy you making me look good.

thanks

LOL, this made my morning.

They are kind of stupid (Paul supporters). I feel badly picking on them even though they are bullies themselves for the most part.

I was thinking of passing a cup around JPP to take up a collection for them. Even if they choose not to spend it on books and a few classes, they might go to the mall to blow it on video games and that could give the rest of us a respite.

What's funny is your inability to read. Well, no it just shows your laziness and desperation.

Once again, the Reason article concludes with a favorable opinion of Paul. Two writers from Reason (I believe one was editor Gillespie) recently had a glowing article of Paul in WSJ.

Did not post this as a statment that Paul would win on LP ticket or that he would even pursue it. So your strawmen are worthless. I posted this on the point that the LP and libertarians don't support him. You even claimed he would have trouble winning the nomication. You are horribly wrong on this.

Oh Good God. Bob Barr, noted reactionary and clinton impeachement fan, sponsors a resolution to support Ron Paul. Who'd thunk?

I'm not suprised in the least by this. I've always said that while libertarians pay some lip service to gay rights, civil rights, and abortion rights, they will always come down on the side of whoever is the most reactionary on economics, and who hates the New Deal the most. Taxes and spending is their bread and butter. The issue that guides their ultimate choice.

I've read every stupid thing you've said .. including how "clueless" I am about him winning the LP nomination.

Simple question .. has he won the nomination?

Here's a secret .. he doesn't even want it.

I posted the article as a demonstration that many libertarians don't want him at the top of their ticket, and if you can read, that was clearly stated.

Seems you're having some difficulty comprehending .. so I'll post another ..

The fact that this is news to you demonstrates that you don't even know the internal politics of your own party. You ran to the board to denounce me as "clueless" even though he hasn't won anything, including the LP nomination .. THAT HE DOESN'T WANT .. and proved how completely ignorant you are about politics and how desperately clueless the LP truly is.

Once again, thanks

I love these BAC threads .. feel free to create another. :)

WTF is Ron Paul doing with that butt load of money he raised? I've been posting Ron Paul poll numbers since his infamous Guy Fawkes day fundraising bomb, and his poll numbers are either static or going backwards. He's still hovering between 3 and 5% in national polls, and early state primary polls, as BAC pointed out.

A candidate with a war chest the size of Paul's who only can muster 3 to 5% of the vote, is going down in history as a complete flop. :)

Uhh, well known that Barr joined over Patriot Act and war, not economics.

He could have joined the Green Party then, if his only issue was patriot act.

He joined the libertarians, because he supports their assualt on the New Deal, Great Society, and civil rights legisislation of the 1960s.

Are there some libertarians opposed to Paul. Of course. Does not matter. HE'D STILL WIN THE NOMINATION EASILY.

I went to a local LP meeting last week. Want to know what the major business was? How to handle excom elections since all of us were registering Repub until after the election.

I have been involved in LP for over 10 years. Been to two National Conventions, served on Florida excom, chaired local group and ran for office. I think I have a better sense of the pulse than you. You pretend to know what you are talking about, but you don't have the least little clue.

There is a final punchline to be had in this "Ron Paul Revolution" joke and it involves the money you speak of. He isn't spending it .. and guess where it's going to go?

Didn't he become a member of the dread, ACLU?

I doubt it. I think he collaborates with them on issues pertaining to the patriot act. But, as for being an actual "card carrying" member of the ACLU, I doubt Barr would go that far. Carrying that card for him, would be the equivalent of a vampire carrying a cross. There's a genetic rejection of it.
