Is the Trump campaign finally conceding defeat in the 2020 election? Or are they using the promise of a 2024 campaign for another term for outgoing President Donald Trump simply as a gift to raise more money? These are the questions currently being posed by the greatest political minds in Washington D.C. Or maybe just in this humble blog post.

First reported by CNN’s Betsy Klein, the subject of the email asks “Should President Trump run in 2024?” This suggests that the campaign has come closer to conceding Trump lost the 2020 election, six weeks after all major media outlets projected President-elect Joe Biden
as the winner. Or perhaps, they are seeing a third term for President Trump? One can never truly know the thinking behind such promotional missives.

Trump won't have any supporters in 2024.

He will be 78 and all his supporters said Biden was too old to be president at that age.

Is this humor/satire? Pardon me for not getting the joke, if so.

My feeling is that Trump is going to use his PR as IMPOTUS to start his own party. Mr. Owl and I have had several debat... er, discussions about this. He thinks that the Republican Party will keep him. I think that he wants his own brand, his own party, and he'll start one. And in 2024 he'll get a lot of votes, but nowhere near enough to place anything other than close to whatever the (R) candidate gets. And we'll be gifted with four more years of a (D) candidate (won't be Biden though, I'm thinking).

Your take?

Sounds like a pretty good guess to me.

It's too far out to make any predictions but it is fun to postulate.

What am I missing...

Well you didn't ask but my take is simply the observation that if you are correct, Democratic victory is guaranteed for the foreseeable future.
A de jure fracture is more than a minority party can stand and ever win anything. Republicans need absolutely every able body rowing in the same direction
and cheating and lying to its constituents all the while in every way imaginable to ever have a flicker of pulling an inside straight electoral college
win. Peel off anything? Ha! They are eternally fucked. Trump may well be our best friend going forward. I pray he does as you suggest.

Trump is in worse shape, physically and mentally. But Trump will be way too busy in courts.

He was so monumentally stupid to run. He never thought, fuck what if I win!
He could have done some loan workouts continued the small ball grift, done TV etc...

He has royally toasted his brand. Public service is too transparent in this country for a scoundrel like
Trump to not be under indefatigable attack every waking moment. I foresaw all of this and would have advised
him accordingly.

Good analysis, thanks.

This might explain the reluctance of so many most likely otherwise ethical (R)s to stand up against him. Not only do they fear his tweets and his base, they fear pushing him into starting his own party. It might further explain why so many, including our own former Marine general Rep. Jack Oathbreaker Bergman signed on to the TX AG's failed lawsuit. Appease the tyrant and maybe he'll stay in the party. Anger him and he leaves and takes the Cult of Deplorables with him, and screws the (R) party for as long as their devotion lasts.

On the OP question of admission, it's hard to pin down Trump and his surrogates, it/they is/are capable of equivocation and self contradiction without
apology. Trump normalized nonaccountability for words and deeds. It's sad.

Grover Cleveland was voted out of the White House and then won a second term later.
It's been done, and with the collective IQ of the 50-state American electorate, even a diseased pig-fucking orangutan could replicate the feat.
