Bang-up jobs report shows DOGE is . . . working

The latest jobs report suggests DOGE is working as intended, contrary to all the lefty screaming around Elon Musk’s government-slim-down initiative.

US employers added 177,000 jobs in April in a surprisingly strong report; labor-force participation rose even as federal jobs plummeted by 9,000.

That fed-jobs figure is down 26,000 in total since January.

In other words . . . this is exactly what should be happening.

I.e., US job gains should be fueled by private-sector growth, not by adding ever more padding to Uncle Sam’s payroll.

And the idea bruited by the media — that slashing fed jobs would somehow plunge both society and the economy into a death spiral — has been proven utterly wrong....

This is a net positive for the American tax payer . Fewer drone bees and more worker bees. That makes more honey for the worker bees.

God bless Musk and DOGE.

You wont get many if ANY hits from the board lefties on this one. They tend to run away like scared little kids when ANY good news involving our country is posted while DJT is POTUS. They are as anti American as anyone can get. Hate filled LOSERS.

Biden's jobs reports were always puffed up with extra government jobs which hurts the tax payer. It's much better to have more private sector jobs and fewer government sector jobs.

We will hear crickets from the Libratards.

Idiot

In April 2025, the U.S. economy added 177,000 jobs, exceeding analyst expectations. The key sectors driving this growth were: Health care, which added 51,000 jobs, followed by transportation and warehousing with 29,000 new jobs. Other sectors experiencing growth included financial activities (14,000 jobs) and social assistance. Meanwhile, the federal government saw a decrease of 9,000 jobs.

No, DOGE (the Department of Government Efficiency) is not responsible for job creation, and in fact, it has been criticized for potentially leading to job losses. DOGE's mission is focused on reducing government spending and improving efficiency through various means, including potential IT upgrades and streamlining processes. While it may create some jobs within the DOGE team itself, its primary focus is on reducing the overall government workforce.

Pesky details.

What has DOGE done in Trump's first 100 days?

Musk's vision of DOGE taking a chainsaw to government spending has hit repeated snags. An initial savings goal of $2 trillion was lowered to $1 trillion before being downgraded again recently to $150 billion — less than a tenth of Musk's original promise. Even that number may be difficult to reach, given DOGE's history of inaccurate and overstated claims combined with Trump's desire to shield spending on Social Security and Medicare, which are major drivers of the federal budget.
