Basis for a current social dilemma.

Shaken, not stirred!
Here's the thing: if by some quirk of nature all versions of homosexuality was primarily among non-white Americans, all this nonsense about "trans" and "cis" wouldn't even be an issue. American society is STILL dealing with the aftermath of it's interwoven racial/ethnic divides that was here when the country was forming and STILL needing legislation in an attempt to correct. So getting over a hurdle when your physical existence is an impediment precedes dealing with sexuality.

But you have white yuppies who will not be denied. They're the right color/race, born of the right economic/social class, went to the right schools, did their penance in low level jobs, know the right wines, conversation points, etc. So why should they be denied the right to treat their sexuality in the public discourse any different than their heterosexual counter parts? And if those perceived "rights" require a change in language and biological law by definition, well then so be it, according them.

But skin color, social/caste standing and racial make up do not totally immune one from societal opposition. What we are seeing now in various states is IMHO just a preview of things to come.

It's going to be up to the PEOPLE to decide what is fair under the law and what will be acceptable and a what levels.

This is going to be interesting.

No, it will be up to SOME people to decide. Most people couldn't find their own ass if it had a bell on it.

And it's THAT mindset that is part of the problem in this country:

- people with a college degree think they are better and more intelligent than those who don't.

- People with years of real life job experience think they are better and more intelligent than "no nothing college kids".

- People "of faith" think they are morally better than agnostics or atheists...and vice versa.

- People of inherited wealth and privilege think they are better than "wage slaves"...and vice versa.

Mutual racial, ethnic, social distrust and hatred...the list goes on.

And a lot of folks who have obtained political positions of power count on these differences for exploitation as to keeping their positions.

Once we as a nation honestly cop to this and >GASP!< change our ways, things may get better.
