Biden Administration “Not Aware” of a “Hostage-Like Situation” in Afghanistan as Americans are Held Hostage

Utter, and complete incompetency!

President Joe Biden and his administration are quickly proving to be the most incompetent administration in United States history.

While speaking to reporters, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he was “not aware” or any “hostage-like situation” in Afghanistan when responding to a question about the six planes at Mazar-i-Sharif Airport (MAZ) that were being held hostage.

“We are not aware of anyone being held on an aircraft or any hostage-like situation in Mazar-i-Sharif,” Blinken said as he completely ignored the dangerous situation in Afghanistan.

Blinken falsely claimed that he has been “assured” that everyone with “valid” paperwork is allowed to leave, appearing to put the blame on the hostages in Afghanistan.

“We’ve been able to identify a relatively small number of Americans who we believe are seeking to depart from Mazar-i-Sharif with their families. We have been assured, again, that all American citizens and Afghan citizens with valid travel documents will be allowed to leave,” Blinken said.

“And again, we intend to hold the Taliban to that,” he added.

The situation in Afghanistan continues to get worse. According to a Washington Free Beacon who spoke with a State Department official, the State Department has no resources to help Americans on the ground.

“We do not have personnel on the ground, we do not have air assets in the country, we do not control the airspace—whether over Afghanistan or elsewhere in the region,” the official said. “We understand the concern that many people are feeling as they try to facilitate further charter and other passage out of Afghanistan.”

The spokesman also noted that, “[g]iven these constraints, we also do not have a reliable means to confirm the basic details of charter flights, including who may be organizing them, the number of U.S. citizens and other priority groups on-board, the accuracy of the rest of the manifest, and where they plan to land, among many other issues.”

During an interview with Fox News host Chris Wallace, GOP Rep. Michael McCaul discussed the ongoing situation at the Mazar-i-Sharif airport where the six planes have been held up for days.

“In fact we have six airplanes at Mazar-i-Sharif airport, six airplanes, with American citizens on them as I speak, also with these interpreters, and the Taliban is holding them hostage for demands right now,” McCaul said.

“State has cleared these flights and the Taliban will not let them leave the airport,” he added.

Taliban’s interior minister is on FBI’s most-wanted list, believed to be holding American hostage
Sen. Graham called the Taliban’s interim government a 'lineup of thugs and butchers'

Taliban government interior minister wanted by FBI for ties to al Qaeda

"Sirajuddin Haqqani, the head of the terror group known as the Haqqani network who is wanted by the FBI, has been named the Taliban's interim interior minister, which was seen by some as a slap in the face to the U.S. and Western countries.

The Haqqani network is known to be a ruthless arm of the Taliban and has been blamed on attacks in the country against coalition forces. The FBI has a $10 million bounty on his head. It is believed that he is holding at least one American hostage, according to the Associated Press."

U.S. Citizens and Afghans Wait for Evacuation Flights From Country’s North
The Taliban have left hundreds of people stranded in Afghanistan awaiting approval for departure.

Around 1,000 people, including dozens of American citizens and Afghans holding visas to the United States or other countries, remained stuck in Afghanistan for the fifth day on Sunday as they awaited clearance for the departure from the Taliban. The holdup reflects the challenges of foreign governments working with the group, which has yet to form a government.
Negotiations to allow the planes to depart, involving officials of the Taliban, the United States and Qatar, have dragged on for days, leaving the evacuees in an increasingly precarious limbo, according to representatives of organizations trying to get them to safety.
The plight of the passengers hoping to leave the country from the airport in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif mirrors that of thousands of people who were unable to board planes from Kabul, the capital, after Taliban militants took the city on the eve of the U.S. troop withdrawal.

Is Biden aware that there are American hostages that he deserted in Afghanistan?

Of course he is and does not care.

The leftist Progressives simply do not care they are already trying to sweep this total ineptness by the Biden administration under the rug. Lamestream media are trying to bury it, and not mention it!
