At the APEC meeting Biden spoke highly of Governor Newsom.

"I want to thank him. He's been one hell of a governor, man. Matter of fact, he can be anything
he wants, he could have the job I'm looking for."

Biden is losing to Trump by 6 to 7 points in every poll taken. And Trump leads Biden b significant amounts in 5 of the 6 swing states.
Trump is virtually tied with biden in the other swing state of Wisconsin.

Guess what, Obama was also down in the polls, but won his second term. The only poll that counts is the voting poll.
 
Polling a year in advance is meaningless. Odd how rightys hate and disparage polling calling it all kinds of bad names, until it shows they are winning. Then they cite it over and over as if it proves they will win.

Trump was not winning the GOP nomination this far out before the primaries.

Trump was not beating Hillary this far out before the GE.

Obama was not beating Romney this far out before the GE.

Polls on POTUS this far out tend to always rank the POTUS poorly as they are basically being compared to what everyone being polled IMAGINES the competition will be, even when you name names. That person is just not real, yet. But as soon as you put in the actual contender, a real person with a record in who wins the other party nomination, that rapidly changes as their actual record can then be highlighted and focused on.
 
To political junkies I guess the one interesting note to Biden’s comment about Newsom is it was said with Harris in the audience.

Arguably they would, as of today, seem the two early front runners for ‘28. So even if stated in jest you wonder how Harris’ camp took it.

The Trump /Santos ticket is now being readied. They are booting him out of congress just in time to run with Daffy Donald. They are a perfect fit. They have identical morals and ethics.
