Biden: "Gay Marriage is inevitable"

"...Vice President Joe Biden says the country is evolving on the issue of gay marriage and he thinks it's inevitable there will be national consensus.
He said on ABC's "Good Morning America" Friday the same thing is happening with the issue of marriage that happened with gays' service in the military..."

it is a step in the right direction but still too little, full equal rights for homosexual marriage is the only solution

Yes, Not good.
maybe ordinary hetrosexuals should start parading their sexuality before children and people likely to be offended.
One of the worst things America has done is to brand as normal a lifestyle that is so selfish that its indecencies hit ordinary people full in the face.
If I paraded in New York inflating condoms and wearing clothes designed to accentuate my genitals I wonder what would happen. Let these people do as I do. Let them practice their relationships with due regard for those who do not share their beliefs. When they respect me I will respect them.

Are you saying that homosexuality is wrong?

Are you saying that homosexuality is wrong?

I am not saying homosexuality is wrong per se BUT it most definitely is a deviant lifestyle. There are other deviant lifestyles that are allowed or tolerated, extreme christianity and fundementalist islam, or those people who will only eat nuts or whatever. These groups deviate from what is the accepted norm and we tolerate them. However when a vegan, for example, refuses to sit in the same classroom as non vegans (as I remember happening some years ago) it is unacceptable. When the Rev Phelps preaches his hate and disturbs me or mine it is unacceptable. Similarly when a queer parades in tight plastic shorts and demands that we take notice of his particular lifestyle that is unacceptable.
Religion is acceptable, veganism is acceptable, homosexuality is acceptable but none of them are normal human behaviour and we and they must understand that.
As far as I am aware the total acceptance and even promotion of deviant lifestyles is an American phenomenom. Please keep it within your own shores.

It is inevitable. This is a sign that even Biden, if you quote him often enough, will say something right on occasion.

It's already come in many instances.

I'm surprised that "Lowaicue" doesn't know this.

But you do not have equal rights for women in the US. Gender differences in pay still exist. However, in the US it is not only women who suffer with inequalities. I listened the other day to a piece about District 8 (?) in Washington. Mmm someone has a lot of work to do for American equality.

I must say, I find these statements surprising.

How did you arrive at your definition of "normal human behavior"?

Your arguments remind me of the emotional statements of "Dixie" or "Damn Yankee".

Tolerance for what you describe as "deviancy" worldwide is fairly well-documented, to a lesser or greater degree.

Yes, there are still disparities in pay between men & women.

But a recent study showed that lesbians, on average, make more than straight women. I found that interesting.

You seem to find difficulies in tolerating my views. Views which I am sure, once cleared of the tinsel of political correctness, are shared by the majority.
Let me try again, perhaps more simply.
I will and do tolerate all manner of deviation. BUT I do not want it pushed into my face, and I have the right (and a right of much greater pedigree) to choose not to accept that sort of behaviour.
I know homosexuals, have worked with homosexuals, have and do enjoy their company but it is NOT normal, no matter how pedantic the argument. It is not normal in lions although it is occasionally observed and it is not normal in penguins or any other creature. It happens, sure.
We seem to have arrived at a place where it is considered trendy to be homosexual, trendy to use foul language on TV, trendy to 'push the envelope' as they say.
Well, here's another trend. NO. These things are NOT acceptable. I have the right NOT to be offended by this behaviour.

Possibly because they are less of an investment risk in that they wont be popping off to have children every couple of years.

That makes them a risk? They will be out for a short time when they give birth. But then they are less likely to leave because now they NEED the job for the extra expenses and wantthe health insurance.

When I managed businesses, having mothers (especially single mothers) was a godsend. They were the most dependable long term employees I had. And called in sick far less than single, childless people.

Not exactly true, since some lesbian couples use surrogacy or in vitro procedures to have children.

'Risks' tend to be assessed using representative populations. There are always those at the ends of the curve.
