We fight, We win, Am Yisrael Chai
The 2018 attack claimed the lives of 11 worshippers from Dor Hadash, New Light and Tree of Life congregations, which shared space in the synagogue in Squirrel Hill, the heart of Pittsburgh’s Jewish community. Two worshippers and five responding police officers were also injured in the attack, the deadliest act of antisemitism in U.S. history.

Vice President Kamala Harris also cited a rise in antisemitism in a statement marking the anniversary of the Pittsburgh attack.

“I will always work to ensure the safety and security of Jewish people in the United States and around the world, and will always call out antisemitism whenever and wherever we see it,” she said.

The Pittsburgh attacker was sentenced to death last year after being convicted on 63 counts, including hate crimes resulting in death.

Who is Robert Bowers: Antisemitic gunman sentenced to death for Tree of Life synagogue shooting

In the months leading up to the shooting, Mr Bowers was spewing bigoted and antisemitic vitriol online, investigators say.

He called immigrants "invaders" and posted racist memes, including some that accused Jewish people of being the "enemy of white people."

After his arrest, police learned that Mr Bowers had 21 weapons registered to his name. He was otherwise unknown to law enforcement.

They then began to review Mr Bowers' online presence, finding an account on Gab — a supposedly free speech oriented, right wing social media alternative to the likes of Twitter — where he posted a steady slew of hate. His bio included the phrase "Jews are the children of Satan" and his posts consisted of anti-Jewish slurs and conspiracy theories.

Bowers also denounced African Americans with racial slurs and images which are related to lynchings, and he also denounced white women who have relationships with black men. He used his online accounts to post conspiracy theories regarding philanthropist George Soros.

The horrendous actions of the genocidal Jews of Israel have engendered a world-wide righteous antisemitism from which all innocent Jews are suffering. It is not those who criticize the perpetrators of the foul Zionist doctrine who should suffer- it is those who put the Zionist genocide into practice.

I don't know if he'll actually get death. Our governor is Jewish and put a moratorium on the death penalty in PA.

"In 2018, a gunman walked into the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood and murdered 11 Jewish people as they worshipped, in the deadliest act of antisemitism in our nation’s history.

It’s hard to imagine a more heinous crime than murdering 11 people as they pray.

And candidly, my first reaction was that the killer deserved to be put to death.

Over time, however, my belief on this topic has evolved.

I’ve spoken to victims, to families, to advocates, and to community leaders.

I listened to the members of the Tree of Life community and was blown away by their courage and their fortitude.

They told me, that even after all the pain and anguish, they did not want the killer put to death.

He should spend the rest of his life in prison they said, but the state should not take his life as punishment for him taking the lives of their loved ones.

That moved me. And that’s stayed with me."
