Whelan had a few things against him. He is a veteran and Biden does not like the military. Griner is Black and Gay so she is of extreme importance to racisat bigoted democrats. Biden should have demanded both be released for the arms dealer who will now go back to work to sell arms that will kill many more and very possibly many Americans. Do not be surprised if in the future terrorist attack the US with weapons from the merchant of death Biden released

President Biden's prisoner exchange with Russia secured the release of WNBA star Brittney Griner on Thursday, but left U.S. Marine veteran Paul Whelan in Russian custody.

Whelan has been in Russian custody since 2018 when he was sentenced to 16 years in prison on espionage charges. Griner had been in Russian custody since February after authorities discovered vape cartridges containing a small amount of cannabis oil in her luggage.

Biden's administration had initially sought the release of both Griner and Whelan in exchange for notorious arms dealer Viktor Bout, a Russian citizen serving a prison sentence in America. Known colloquially as the "Merchant of Death," he was convicted in 2011 of conspiracy to kill Americans and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The Biden administration ultimately agreed to exchange Bout for Griner alone, leaving Whelan behind in Russia.

While I think Biden was played by Putin, agreed on Pedo Don's cowardly draft-dodging record of avoiding military service. Queen Elizabeth had more time in the military than the entire Trump family combined.

You believe it. You are a righty, so that is enough. Griner was the big story for months. It was a bad mark on Biden for some reason that makes no sense. If Putin was not giving up the spy, then Griner was available, it was the right thing to do. If he got Whelan out, then rightys would bitch about him leaving Griner. You guys are not hard to figure out. Russia is a bad country for blacks. She was not going to be treated well in the gulag.

Whelan was dishonorably discharged from the Marines for stealing. Still every attempt should be made to get all Americans home. Joe did what he could.

Just admit there's nothing Joe can ever do to make you happy.
