Joe Biden still regrets pulling out of the 2024 presidential race and believes he could have beaten Donald Trump for the White House, according to a report.

The outgoing president backed out of the race over the summer following a disastrous first debate against his Republican rival, low approval numbers, and dwindling donations.

But Biden recently told people that despite the issues his campaign faced he is confident he could have defeated Trump in November, sources familiar with the conversations told The Washington Post.

Calls for Biden to leave the race grew increasingly loud among Democrats after his poor debate performance on June 27, and he finally called it quits on July 21.

His belated decision to endorse Kamala Harris saw the vice-president given only three months to mount a campaign against Trump, eventually being swept in all the battleground states and losing the popular vote by 2.2 million.

People with dementia frequently are delusional. But he could not have done much worse than Kamala . She spent two billion and still lost.

That's a pipe dream on Biden's part?!! He was so frail looking and apparently not all all together mentally either?!! He should've never ran for re-election in the first place?!!

Biden is mistakenly presuming the same election-stealing that installed him in 2020. The DNC couldn't pull it off in 2024 so neither Harris nor Biden could defeat Trump.

Garland was a very big mistake.

Does Biden know what day of the week it is?

Garland was a very big mistake.
And just think,...you chuckleheads wanted him so BADLY to get a lifetime appointment to the supreme court! You should THANK we Republicans for putting a stop to that nonsense.

Garland was a very big mistake.
A lot of moving parts there. First, after the worst case of a biased DOJ since Nixon, Garland went out of his way to seem neutral. He delayed prosecution of trump for Jan. 6 both to appear unbiased, but also to allow the House to finish an extremely damaging investigation. Competing inquiries might have exposed information to perpetrators who have yet to be brought to justice.

I think he figured it was a terrible look to hit the ground running by coming after trump, after all of the criticism of Barr for protecting the criminal.

Agreed. His first mistake was breaking his promise to be a one-term President.

He would have made a much better S.Ct. Justice than an Attorney General. Slow and thoughtful are good attributes in the correct situation.
