Biden urges unity at prayer breakfast under new management

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden delivered a message of unity at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, the first time the annual event has been held since its leadership and structure were overhauled to distance it from a controversial private religious group.

“In our politics and in our lives, we too often see each other as opponents and not competitors. We see each other as enemies, not neighbors,” Biden said. “And as tough as these times have been, if we look closer, we see the strength, the determination that has long defined America.”

Why should we expect unity when those running the country are pushing divisiveness? Biden is one of the most divisive Presidents in modern history.

I voted for Biden, but unsophisticated optimists are nonetheless troublesome.
We need presidents who'll skip the fucking breakfast. Doesn't Dunkin Donuts deliver to the White House?

The prayer breakfast should be eliminated.

The House just banned a Muslim from a committee assignment. We need to make Congress a non-theological entity.

They didn't ban her for being Muslim, contrary to her red herring speech afterwards on the floor.

Omar never addresses the question of why she was removed, or offers any rebuttal to that. Instead, she goes off on a completely unrelated rant, making this all about her, and calling those who kicked her off variously, racists, anti-immigrant, Islamophobic, misgynological, etc. It's a speech by a petulant radical Leftist who can't tell the truth about it because she'll look guilty as hell if she does.

I did not say they banned her because she was Muslim. They banned her because of the Jewish Lobby.
