I think this is pretty standard for all former presidents.
FYI: a national park and a national historic site are two very different things.

and are you sure this is standard for all former presidents? can you show me what former president's childhood homes have become national parks.....thanks.
National parks? None, including Clinton. National historic sites? Well, GHWB, GWB (the same home, which is the only dual president national historic site save the home of John Adams and John Quincy Adams), Reagan, the aforementioned John Adams and John Quincy Adams, Carter. Do I need to go further?
