Black Unemployment is Surging Under Donald Trump

Amid a broad slackening of the U.S. labor market, and in spite of campaign promises to save "Black jobs," the unemployment rate for Black workers is surging under President Donald Trump.

According to seasonally adjusted data published Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the unemployment rate for Black Americans rose from 7.2 percent in July to 7.5 percent in August, now at its highest level since October 2021.

CBO Sees Lower US Growth, Higher Unemployment This Year

The Congressional Budget Office now expects higher inflation and unemployment this year and slower economic growth, after taking into account President Donald Trump’s tax law, tariffs and lower net immigration.

The nonpartisan CBO’s economic projections released Friday showed the economy will expand 1.4% in 2025, down from a January estimate of 1.9%. Inflation will pick up to 3.1%, nearly a full percentage point higher than the prior estimate, based on the Federal Reserve’s preferred gauge.

Just another of trump's empty promises like all the countless others.

Where African-Americans go, most Americans will soon follow.

Trump brought We, the People, higher prices and less jobs with his DOGE cuts and tariff wars.

OTOH, I hear there's a job opening for MAGAt political activists.

Isn't Trumponomics just wonderful.

I never thought instigating chaotic global trade wars was a good idea!
Most intelligent, educated and sane people agree. As the WSJ published, "it will qualify as one of the dumbest in history.” A fitting epitaph for the Trump administration.

Wall Street Journal slams Trump’s tariff plans: ‘The dumbest trade war in history’

The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board published a punchy Saturday op-ed listing all the flawed reasons for President Trump’s tariff plan, citing a declining trend in trade and manufacturing capability following signed sanctions.

Trump on Saturday imposed significant tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China, fueling a potential trade war...

...The board alleged that the car industry, farm goods and oil would suffer from the president’s new policies.

“None of this is supposed to happen under the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement that Mr. Trump negotiated and signed in his first term. The U.S. willingness to ignore its treaty obligations, even with friends, won’t make other countries eager to do deals,” they wrote.

“Maybe Mr. Trump will claim victory and pull back if he wins some token concessions. But if a North American trade war persists, it will qualify as one of the dumbest in history.”

"Black's for Trump!"

They believed all his empty promises. A great many people did, unfortunately.
...and the fearmongering. They blamed Biden for the economy when it was the pandemic that was the problem globally. Trump slowed down the US response, but then the US moved forward with vaccinations and treatment along with economic measures. The Biden administration made a very bad situation better....but they didn't sell it very well. IDK why.

The noise coming from the right drowned out the facts; lowering inflation, avoidance of a recession, lives saved.

The Republicans have been dumbing down Americans for over 30 years by attacking public education. The Trump administration wants to dumb it down even more by gutting public education so only the rich can have an education.

They want us to be field hands.
