Second suspect arrested in connection with series of sexual assaults

According to Houston police, the arrest occurred after the suspect attempted to sexually assault one woman and subsequently assaulted another.

Metairie woman sentenced in teen sex crime case

A Metairie woman has been sentenced to seven years in prison after violating parole she was previously sentenced to following an inappropriate sexual relationship she had with a teen.

According to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office, 41-year-old Crystal Coleman pleaded guilty to indecent behavior with a juvenile back in April.

Coleman reportedly had consensual sexual relations with a 15-year-old in early 2023. Her initial sentence of seven years in prison was suspended by a judge and replaced with 3 years of active probation after Coleman accepted the guilty plea.

As part of the plea, Coleman was not allowed to have contact with the teen, however, in August, she drove to St. Tammany parish to see the teenager and was spotted by the teen’s father. Coleman reportedly also communicated with the teen through social media during this time period.

Grapevine police bust crime ring charged with stealing $10 million in tech products from warehouses

Police in Grapevine say they’ve busted a ring of thieves who stole $10 million worth of tech products from warehouses across the Metroplex.

Seven suspects are now charged in the ring, which investigators say is part of a larger trend of crime targeting warehouses in the vicinity of DFW Airport.

In surveillance video from a warehouse in Grapevine in May, a masked man could be seen cutting a hole in a bay door, then loading $500,000 worth of Oculus virtual reality headsets and Meta smart glasses into a stolen truck.

“The employees came back to their warehouse, found that there was a hole in one of their garage doors leading into the warehouse,” said Oscar Ramirez, a sergeant with Grapevine PD. “And of course, lots of property that had been taken, pallets of property that was gone.”

Grapevine police took a report from the warehouse, and their crime analyst put together the surveillance video and information about the scene to see if other police departments had reports of similar thefts.

“That was put out and we immediately got a response,” said Ramirez.

Police said across Dallas and Tarrant counties, this group of thieves pulled off seven of these heists from last August to this June, stealing around $10 million of tech products.

Two teens arrested in U Street crime spree linked to man's death

Two teenage boys have been arrested in connection to a string of robberies in the U Street area of D.C. One victim died days after he was attacked.

Bryan Smith, 39, was walking home about 5 a.m. on T Street NW on Sunday, Oct. 27 when the two teen suspects robbed and beat him, leaving him with severe head trauma, police said.

Smith died from his injuries.

D.C. police announced they arrested two boys, ages 14 and 16, in connection to the crime.

"While nothing can undo the senseless loss, we hope today's arrest offers some measure of justice and a step toward healing. We are here to send a very clear message today. If you commit violence in our city, we will find you and we will hold you accountable," Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith said.

The attack on Smith was the first in a string of violent assaults and robberies the two suspects committed that morning, police said.

An hour after the assault on T Street, the teens assaulted multiple people in the 1900 block of 14th Street NW and tried to rob them, police said.

7 teens charged in violent crime spree including gun store burglary

Seven teenagers are in custody in Fairfax County, Virginia, suspected in a crime spree that included a gun store burglary.

About 2:30 a.m., a stolen Kia was used to smash into Dominion Defense in Lorton, police said. Teenagers ran into the store and stole 14 guns.

“That was a brazen crime committed – tragically, sadly – by teenagers,” Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said.

The crime spree began before that burglary with the armed robbery of a teenager at Springfield mall.

The violence escalated after the gun store burglary with the shooting of a 19-year-old man in Lorton, police said. Gunfire hit two homes in Springfield.

Another teen was abducted at gunpoint in Reston, police said. A video was made of him being assaulted with firearms.

The next day, bullets struck another home, and an AR-style weapon stolen from the gun store was used in a robbery in Hybla Valley, police said.

Special agent Anthony Spotswood of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said gun store break-ins involving teenagers is a troubling trend.

“We certainly have a trend of juveniles specifically breaking into these firearms licensees,” he said.

Charges against the teenagers – the youngest of whom is just 13 – include auto theft, abduction, mob assault, firearms offenses and burglary.

Police said they recovered eight of the 14 guns and continue to track down the rest.
