Bob Saget's Death Has Taken a Very Dark Turn

Bob Saget passed away in January.

He was found dead in his hotel room.

He was found face up, lying on the bed by the Ritz-Carlton Orlando’s staff. He was only 65. America’s Dad had passed. It was a shock.

As the condolences poured in, we’re sadly at a juncture where the tin foil hats are being made.

The autopsy of the late comedian was rather shocking.

He died of head trauma, and not just a knock to the head.

It was significant. The force was the equivalent of being hit with a baseball bat or falling 20-30 feet.

Bob Saget’s Autopsy Report Describes Severe Skull Fractures

iu

Bob Saget, the comedian and actor, died after what appeared to be a significant blow to the head, one that fractured his skull in several places and caused bleeding across both sides of his brain, according to an autopsy report released on Friday.

“This is significant trauma,” said Dr. Gavin Britz, the chair in neurosurgery at Houston Methodist. “This is something I find with someone with a baseball bat to the head, or who has fallen from 20 or 30 feet.”

The findings complicated the picture of Mr. Saget’s death that has emerged in recent days: Far from a head bump that might have been shrugged off, the autopsy described an unmistakably serious set of injuries.

The autopsy left a number of unresolved questions about how exactly Mr. Saget, 65, was so badly hurt.

He was found dead in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lake on Jan. 9 during a weekend of stand-up comedy acts. His family said that the authorities determined that he had hit his head, “thought nothing of it and went to sleep.”

Dr. Britz noted that the autopsy described fractures to particularly thick parts of the skull, as well as to bones in the roof of the eye socket. “If you fracture your orbit,” he said, referring to those eye bones, “you have significant pain.”

The knock ruptured veins in the space between the membrane covering the brain and the brain itself, causing blood to pool, the autopsy indicated. The brain, secured in a hard skull, has nowhere to move, doctors said, and the result is a compression of brain centers critical for breathing and other vital functions.

Judge blocks release of records from Bob Saget's death investigation

The comedian and actor, who was most famous for his role as Danny Tanner in the sitcom "Full House," was found dead in his Florida hotel room on Jan. 9.

Saget, 65, died from head trauma, his family said last week. The chief medical examiner for Orange and Osceola counties said that the manner of death was an accident.

On Tuesday, Saget's wife, Kelly Rizzo, and three daughters filed a lawsuit against the medical examiner's office and the Orange County sheriff seeking injunctive relief to prevent the release of any records -- including photographs, video and audio recordings, and "statutorily protected autopsy information" -- related to his death.

The family's complaint contends that media outlets have filed or plan to file public records requests seeking the release of the records and argues that no "legitimate public interest would be served" by their release.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Wednesday that while it is "sensitive" to the privacy concerns, "that must be balanced with our commitment to transparency, compliance with the law, and the public’s right to know."

Saget was found unresponsive in his room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando "in a supine [face upward] position on his bed," according to a police report.

A preliminary autopsy showed "no evidence of drug use," medical examiner Dr. Joshua Stephany said.

In an update last week, Stephany said it was his opinion that Saget died from blunt head trauma.

Saget had several blunt force injuries of the head, according to the medical examiner's autopsy report obtained by ABC News, including a fracture at the base of his skull and fractures involving the frontal bone.

It is very curious and heightened by the fact that the family is fighting hard to keep it quiet.

Agreed it's very curious. OTOH, what they are trying to hide may be unrelated to the death itself. They might simply be attempting to ward off deeper investigations into Saget's life that could reveal embarrassing facts such as he liked to dress up in a nighty like J. Edgar Hoover....for the comfort.

Here's fan speculation on what the family is hiding: https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertai...family-death-investigation-confidential.html/
One fan tweeted, “Whenever the family wants to hide the cause of death, then its either suicide or drug related.” Another fan commented on a story about the lawsuit by tweeting, “But why? Unless it’s to hide something ”

One fan supported Saget’s family by tweeting, “They announced (not hid) the cause of Saget’s death to his fans. They didn’t anticipate the rampant covid-skeptic, anti-vax, conspiracy-theory, foul-play & self-harm speculators coming out in droves trying to ruin his reputation or try to ‘prove’ something that’s not there.”

Another fan defended the public’s right to know the details of Saget’s death by tweeting, “It is EVERYBODY’S business dude, They’re PUBLIC RECORDS. If every news channel has room to post stories about his death, then they have room for further relevant autopsy details. What are they trying to hide?”

Was it a suicide attempt? And death was delayed?

Was it a suicide attempt? And death was delayed?

It'd be a funny way of committing suicide. Getting whapped in the head hurts. I'm thinking accident or murder....which is why I'm surprised the cause of the injury isn't being investigated.

The police and coroner would have access to Saget's medical history. If similar injuries pop up there, then that's a sign of a problem such as self-harm or spousal abuse.

Such an injury isn't just a matter of falling against a coffee table. One speculation was a car accident impact, but that could be nailed down fairly quickly.
