When an 11-year-old purchased a game from GameStop, he opened the case to find a baggie of drugs.

The game was purchased from the GameStop location in Lake Charles. According to the boy's father, there was a baggie inside. He returned the game to the store and called police.

Det. Rebecca Reed confirms the substance was meth.

GameStop's Director of Public Relations Joey Mooring says all games that are returned or traded by customers are opened and checked for quality before being placed back on store shelves. Mooring said games from other store locations are also checked before sending them to another.

"Any games traded in with us are checked for quality," said Mooring, "then could be shipped to another store."

However, once received by another location, games are not checked again.

When asked if the drugs were placed in the disc case between the quality inspection and being placed back into inventory, Mooring said he could not comment.

Reed said GameStop told police there was no way to track where the game came from.
