Okay, that neo-fascist corporate types along with fringe conservative evangelicals have been trying for decades to ban George Orwell's 1984. But I just heard that Madeleine L'Engle's "A Wrinkle in Time" is on one state's or city's ban list.
If that's true, then WTF?!?! There's nothing in that book that is remotely promoting gay sexuality in any shape or form. It's not anti-religion nor is it anti-democratic. So I would REALLY be interested in the "reasoning" behind putting this book on the list.
Other than that, I personally have no problem with the removal of books from grade school library shelves that have overtly sexual content of any preference. High school kids, however, should start getting use to the real world.
