At the onset, it might seem a bit odd that the British PM would publicly say BLM, but the POTUS in the US refuses to do same. However, once you dig a bit deeper, it becomes increasingly clear as to why.
tRump is a divider. He always has been and he always will be. As such, tRump desperately need his base. Most everyone understands that tRump has some racial tendencies and so do most of his supporters. As a result, tRump is not about to alienate his overwhelmingly white supporters by uttering "black lives matter". It is no more complicated than that.
