Breaking: Cuomo rules out replacing Joe Biden as Democratic presidential candidate

Running for president checklist:

1. The media loves you, says what a great president you'd make
2. Write a book (that nobody reads but that's irrelevant)
3. Declare you're not interested in running
4. Declare you're running at the last possible strategic moment, timing it so the media will proclaim you the next savior of the country.

Cuomo has checked off the first 3.

IF? How many more times does he have to before Cuomo officially jumps in?

I'm coming from the perspective they just had a year long primary with 15 or how ever many candidates and just chose their horse. Now someone is going to jump in after the fact and get the nomination? The only way I see that happening is if Biden has a health issue or he completely bombs in some way that all Democrats believe they have to pull the rip cord. Without that and with the few current polls I've seen showing him leading I don't just don't see that happening. Of course, what do I know. Maybe it will happen.

Well, as a registered Democrat, I can tell you you are one hundred percent correct, Cuomo ain't running, even if Biden suddenly took gravely ill, Cuomo still would not be the nominee nor would he want to be, the talk of him running is all conservative chatter

So tell us now, how is it SF, being a major metropolitan area, is so successful against the virus?

We got hit first so we had to act. Since I've been critical of SF and the state plenty of times in the past I'll give credit where it is due, London Breed and Newsom have stepped up and addressed the challenge. I think we've been on lockdown longer than anyone. Among local political chatter is why does Cuomo get all this national love when Newsom has done a better job?

Probably true, but Cuomo hasn't done a bad job, and he is forward and honest in his reporting, but more so, cause represents New York, I know you west coast natives hate to hear it, but the NE outshadows California

Now here is another question for you "cawacko," if you recognize that SF's early lockdown was successful, and it appears so, do you think the Administration's quest to open up the economy early could lead to disastrous results if done prematurely and for political purposes?

I have to ask, why my name in quotes? Do you think I post under multiple names here? Sadly, I wouldn't even know how to create a sock if I wanted to. Not to mention it's pretty frightening how much I post here already, would be pretty sad if I was also posting under additional accounts.

Like I said, SF got hit first. We had people coming directly from Wuhan and we are the second most dense (i believe that is the term) City next to NYC. We had no choice but to act.

I posted that WSJ article a week or so ago discussing health and the economy. It's been an ongoing discussion as it should be. You see things only through the lens of Trump thus it distorts everything (the same goes for some of Trump's supporters). I point to the thread a week back that was about Trump wanting to quarantine everyone and liberals went off saying he didn't have the power, it was inept thinking etc. etc. Then at the end of the thread it was posted Biden had suggested the exact same thing, shelter-in-place across the country. All of a sudden all the previous posters stopped commenting. Simple point is it doesn't matter what gets done, you will complain. And the same for supporters to whom he can do no wrong.

There are obviously very severe negative economic events occurring. No, we can't simply say "on this date everything opens up" because its not that simple. But nor is it so simple to say economic activity doesn't matter.

I always put in quotes those that I am responding to largely cause sometimes I change their title, ie, "truth detector" becomes "anything but the truth detector"

I understand how SF succeeded, thought so, just wanted to hear it from a native

And I have a difficult time understanding how one opens up part of the economy given where we are now, especially considering that social distancing is the solution till an answer or vaccine is discovered. I asked you cause you have seen that reality and are a conservative surely ready to make some trade off to get the ball moving, so I just thought you might have an explanation

I wish I did but I don't have an answer. If someone tomorrow said we're removing all shelter-in-place orders I'd say that would be foolish. I also know we are doing serious long-term economic damage.

Maybe because this is an election year and the strong reaction people have for or against Trump clouds people's thinking so many people can't discuss this topic without viewing it through the lens of Trump.

The Dems have a system and according to the primary system, he is the presumptive nominee, He has not won it yet. He has not made 1991 delegates. But nobody is running against him. It is obvious he will be the nominee.

Cuomo is.

Denies running

What could be more obvious?
