Bush wants to turn FHA into a mess too

Damn that chimp! The nerve trying to help people buy homes and avoid forclosure by insuring their loans. This is just awful!

God damn you're a stupid person.

For the first time, FHA will be able to offer many of these homeowners an option to refinance their existing mortgage so they can make their payments and keep their homes.

This is just sick!!

To me lower downpayments and bigger loans with more flexible payments = more risky loans....
Let me see... Just days ago people were complaining because the government was helping the companies out but not the people who got the loans. Now they are doing that too and people start complaining about the insurance on larger loans. More evidence that Bush Derangement Syndrome is more prevalent than previously thought, even when they do what you think you want, you still believe that they are "evil".

It is sad to watch. Really, very sad.

Damo how does this bill help the people who got the loans and are going to lose their homes now?

Lemme get this right , the subprime companies suck down the economy worldwide because of risky loans. And now Bush wants to make the FHA look more like the subprime companies ?

Am I wrong on my understanding of this. Could be...

Ohh there is more to it than what I posted Darla. Go to the website and see.
They would get some income tax relief when their homes are repossesed and such....under the proposals.

And there is counseling...

As usual Damo just ignored my point and jumped off on a tangent.

Oh, I see, it wasn't fast enough for you. That is the new complaint. As I said, it was just days ago that people were complaining that nothing at all was being done, now that something is, they say that they are still "evil" because of 'this'. As I said, it is a larger sign of Bush Derangement Syndrome, when they do what you say they should they are still "evil" because <insert item here>.

You made a bumper sticker, not a point. I simply accepted your "point" and extended a personal thought on the matter.

Except they won't. They'll be able to get loans with a set payment for the 30 years, that they can afford.

Well that will be good, if that's what this is. But it sounds to more like legislation to ensure that predatory loaning practices are not interrupted.

Of course, what would an idiot like me know?

Nah, the difference is these are not subprimes.

As I said before, when they supposedly weren't helping they had no "compassion" and only wanted to help their "buddies in the industry" but when they do they are STILL considered "evil".

I find it very interesting.

Ohh so that is what you call going off on a tangent ? Strange how you pick on me for doing the same thing :D
You don't accept the point, and I don't go off on you for "going off on a tangent". I always speak of the fact that conversations go in different directions and how much I enjoy that.

I go off on you for being disingenuous in your argument when you haven't gone off on a tangent.

Now, it is your thread, enjoy it. But I am not the topic, since you want it to stay on topic so much, then stick to your topic.

No they would not be subprimes, just have higher risks of default than under current FHA rules.
It says nothing about lowering the standards. You are now reading things into it that are not there. It simply lowers down payments, and raises the insurance levels. It does not suddenly remove all standards of credit.

WTF are you talking about?

WTF are you talking about?
I'm talking about how just days ago, when the news hit that the government was lowering rates and that there would be help for the companies that made those crappy loans everybody was saying how they only cared about the "companies" and had no "compassion", yet when they directly work towards helping the people they are still somehow evil, even when you get what you want...

I'm talking about the signs of Bush Derangement Syndrome. I know it is a side discussion, but those happen all the time and I tend to enjoy them so long as they relate in some way to the original post.

It is a new theme of mine.

People with Bush Derangement Syndrome:

1. Say Bush wants to close the border because he is "racist", but Bush does not want to close the border and in fact agrees almost wholesale with the Ds on this one and may even be more permissive than they are. When it is pointed out to them they say, "Well, he is responsible for it anyway." And I stand in awe.

2. Say Bush has no compassion on one day because he isn't doing something. But the next day when he does exactly that they say Bush is evil because he is doing what just days ago he was evil for not doing. And I stand in awe.
