Bush's surge is working

There is a big surge in violence and US/Iraqi deaths in Iraq.
From Bush's past performance I assume this is what he intended.

It is what he projected. He did say that at the beginning there would be an unfortunate surge in death rates, it would get worse before it got better as US troops entered areas they previously were not allowed into and the enemy had buttressed their position.
