but at the final shot he won the war / After losin' every battle

I just got a C in Discrete Mathematics after failing every test.

Whatever.
Been there, done that and know exactly what it means dude and you have the exact right attitude. It tells me the Prof may have knew his stuff but is an asshole. I had a Prof in grad school in a physiology class who failed every single person in the class and was forced to go back and grade eveyone on a curve. He let us know he did it under protest and that he felt we all deserved F's. Some one in the back of the class said "Well "F" you too!" and we all laughed our asses off at him. Profs can be real dicks sometimes.

Apparently I failed just good enough to make a C. I had suspicions that he was going to work with the grades a bit because, as it was, the average person in the class was going to have a 50. I had suspected that I just sucked so hard that I was still going to make a D or F afterwards (I would have to retake the class in that case, because it's a prerequisite to a lot of classes).

Forget about it. He/She is a dick. Move on to the next class and get an A.

Sooooooo..."Discrete Mathematics"...I gotta ask even though I know where this will lead.

Is that like when you're out to dinner at a fancy restaurant and you're trying to figure the tip in your head so you won't seem like a dummy to the waitstaff?

Discrete mathematics is the study of mathematical structures that are fundamentally discrete rather than continuous.

The actual material wasn't as hard as Differential Equations, which I've taken before. But the teacher was practically useless (he barely spoke English) and you basically had to learn the class by doing the homework. One very smart guy managed to make an A on the first few tests, though. But he was pretty much alone. And he made a 50 on the last one.

This professor emigrated from China and went to the Ivy League's, so apparently he's pretty smart, though.

That doesn't mean he can teach though.

Yeah. I honestly think that universities should separate out the professors who are mostly there for research and those who have actual teaching skills. It's not fair to the students to dump guys like this on us.

I feel your pain man. I had more then one prof that scored about a 6 on the TOEFL.
