California Dem poll....

say, I just thought of something.......if the demmycrats hate the electoral college why do they bother with a national convention?............why not just let California and New York pick their candidates?.....

its a serious question that you're obviously afraid to answer.....why do the demmycunts use a system identical to the electoral college to pick their candidates.......why select delegates to a national convention?.....just total the votes?......

Unless something changes drastically, Democrats will win California and NY giving them 31.1%, almost 1/3 of the total they need to win. There has been talk for years and proposals made to modify or do away with the EC. To get rid of it would require a Constitutional Amendment. NY and California, should that ever make it through the proposal stage and go to the States, won't support it. Because of what they offer the Democrats in EVs and the attention they get in the election process, they wouldn't be part of the 38 needed to ratify such an amendment.
 
The Repubs were against the electoral college before it worked out in their favor a few times. Now they defend it with Constitutional zeal. It is a great and American thing now. It is just right-wing hypocrisy at work. PP is one of the worst,.

If Californians were really interested in representation, they would allocate their electoral votes based on the percentage of votes received.

California has 55 electoral votes. If Republicans get 35% of the vote and Democrats 48%; the electoral count would go 19 to Republicans, 26 to Democrats and the balance to the other parties.

I would be fine if New York and Texas did the same thing. ;)

Does that mean Alabama, Mississippi, and Kansas should pick the GOP candidate?

Logically Republicans should vote consistently with what Republicans believe.......as should demmycunts........why don't demmycunts vote consistently with what they believe?.......
